Are you ready for more garbage from Sony Screen Gems? Today it was announced that Nelson McCormick has signed on to direct Screen Gems' remake of The Stepfather, according to Variety. The story centers on a teenage boy who discovers his new stepfather is a serial killer who has murdered multiple families. Script by Joe Cardone takes a modern spin on the 1987 thriller of the same name that starred Terry O'Quinn. Greg Mooradian and Mark Morgan of Maverick Films are producing "Stepfather." McCormick recently wrapped production of Screen Gems' "Prom Night," which stars Brittany Snow, Idris Elba and Johnathon Schaech and opens April 11.
Man it's about time.... I mean, that movie's 20 years old! How can they expect anyone to just watch the original instead when it's so OLD! I hope they remake Scream next.

I dont think thy'll think about remaking scream for a long long time! nor should they.. mabey a prequel would be cool.. about sidney prescotts mother getting murderd.. that could be good... but im not even to sure about the stepfather getting remade! i really love the terry O'quinn stepfater!
