Tonight at the Toronto International Film Festival B-D attended a special party to celebrate the beginning of filming for Lionsgate's Repo! The Genetic Opera, which will be helmed by Darren Lynn Bousman (Saw II-IV) here in Toronto, Canada. Thus far the casting names confirmed have been Alexa Vega, Bill Moseley, Paul Sorvino, Paris Hilton and Nivek Ogre - tonight at the party we discovered some whoppers. Read on for the skinny and watch for some heavy coverage of the film over the next few months.
Bloody-Disgusting learned that the legendary (and beautiful) Sarah Brightman has joined the cast of REPO! Brightman debuted as a dancer in troupes such as Hot Gossip and later released a string of disco singles. She achieved greater fame as a musical theatre performer and partner of theatre composer Andrew Lloyd Webber, with whom she originated several roles including Christine Daaé in The Phantom of the Opera!
In addition, it was also revealed that co-writer Terrance Zdunich will be reoccurring his role from the short film, which was used to pitch the feature.
REPO! focuses on a cruel entrepreneur who creates genetically perfect organs that everybody needs in 2056, and who is content to send in a repo man if the recipient can't make payments.
First of all,
I have never responed to any type of review , be it positive or negative.. (in 39 years),but i must say, Repo..sounds a bit like the script Jimmy did on the TBS show body parts.. but without the repo.. hummm anyway, I never knew what Sarah Brightman's features were closeup.. I saw her once in the RBC center.. going off on a tangent now... (gRRRR) ran a search and saw the review.. should Sarah lend her vocals, Mayhaps she can save this pitiful plot...
