Whether Rob Zombie's remake of Halloween is a success or not, things are moving forward bteween the shock rocker turned director and Dimension Films. The studio - headed by the Weinstein brothers , have just inked a two-picture deal with writer-director Rob Zombie. Read on for details and check out Halloween in theaters this Friday.

Dimension Films has inked a two-picture deal with writer-director Rob Zombie, according to Variety. Andy Gould, Zombie's longtime manager and producing partner, has boarded both projects as producer.

Pact comes as Dimension and distrib partner MGM prepare to release Zombie's "Halloween" nationwide this weekend. The remake is hoping to scare up solid business over the Labor Day weekend, a frame in which studios usually avoid rolling out bigger fare, since it's not a heavy moviegoing holiday.

Per the terms of the two-pic deal, Zombie will write and direct both titles, although Dimension didn't release any further details about the projects, including whether they would be horror films.

"We are excited about his fresh take on 'Halloween' and are thrilled to be expanding our relationship with him on future projects," Dimension topper Bob Weinstein said. "We admire Rob for all the roles he plays, both as a director and writer."

Zombie said the two-picture deal with Dimension is a "natural step in the evolution of my film career."

Gould, with Spectacle Entertainment Group, produced Zombie's two previous features, "The Devil's Rejects" and "House of 1000 Corpses."

Zombie also directed the upcoming animated pic "The Haunted World of El Superbeasto," featuring Paul Giamatti in the lead voice role. He also helmed one of the fake trailers, "Werewolf Women of the S.S.," featuring Nicolas Cage, that was part of Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez's "Grindhouse."

As a recording artist, Zombie has sold more than 15 million albums and directed dozens of musicvideos. He's working on a live album skedded for release later this year.

Maybe it's just me, but if i didnt wanna see this movie or dont like Rob Zombie,I'd shut my co*k holster and just not see the fu*king movie instead of crying about it like some sort of woman on my monthly....but some ppl think other ppl just HAVE to hear their opinion.....

Laser, man, I think you may need medication. Dude, don't take this the wrong way but, man you seem a prime candidate for the bi-polar award of the month. Anyway, it's not that ROB Zombie shouldn't be making movies (though he is a crossover, rockstar hack). It's that he's remaking THIS movie and the litany of pretentious shit tha's come out of his mouth would be comical in any other setting. Here, it's just disrespectful to Carpenter's masterpiece.....

Rob Zombie is awesome...there I said it! LOL! I enjoy his music but it doesn't mean everything he does is going to be great! I thought La Sexorcisto and Astro Creep were two great albums. As far as his solo stuff. Hellbilly Deluxe was about it. The Sinister Urge sucked, Educated Horses was ok. His movies. House of 1000 Corpses was good for what it was. It was never meant to be some masterpiece in film making. It was a cool homage to old grindhouse/splatter flicks. Nothing more. The Devil's Rejects was awesome in my opinion. Even though I like most of his body of work. I do not go around bashing people who don't. You want to debate about it fine but to say Zombie fans are stupid, gay, fan boys...that's just stupid. Everyone has different taste. You may not agree or you may. In the end it doesn't matter what anyone says. All that matters is what you as an individual enjoy! If I were to listen to everyone about what I like or dislike and take there word for it.....then I would be one confused, misdirected person. By enjoying things that other might not? Then that's what makes me the person that I am. Doesn't mean that I am better then anyone. It just means that my point of view is not the same as yours. Why would anyone want to be the same as everyone else anyways?

Btw.....Box office mojo is predicting $26 for the weekend which would set the record for labor day weekend, a point I've long had to concede based on the first rate media blitz conducted to hype this release (at least I'll give credit, where credit is due, albeit grudgingly).....

I may try to keep an "open mind" about this remake and give it a chance, but by no means does that mean "happy halloween, boo" and other sh*t i've seen dont make me wanna vomit...Sherry-moon-im gonna be in all Robs movies-zombie getting iced is a perc all in its own right....heh

AICN gave another update.....And for those of you who continue to labor under the delusion that AICN's sole purpose for existance in tis universe is to draw attention to Gen. Cummings, then you may be surprised to discover that they found some people who actually liked the movie (and a bunch who hated it. Had to throw that one in out of pettiness and spite) Some bad news though.....a working copy has been leaked on the net and is getting downloaded pretty heavily, which has lead to some websites posting disclaimers out of fear that it will diminish the box-office $$$.....
