Even with Dark Sky Films' Antibodies (review) and Anchor Bay's Masters of Horror: Season One Box Set both hitting retailers tomorrow, Tex's pick of the week is Panik House/Synapse's Horrors of Malformed Men. Inside you'll find the rest of this week's Horror In Your House, which does feature a few interesting releases.

Antibodies: Dark Sky Films

Long wanted serial killer Gabriel Engel gets arrested in a spectacular police strike. Small town cop Michael Martens travels to the big city to interrogate him. He associates a brutal murder case with the killer's method and hopes to close the case by getting a confession from Engel. Instead the clash of the two totally opposite characters shakes Michael’s beliefs to the ground, turning him into a dangerous threat to the people around him.

Bad Blood: Tartan

After relocating from Lisbon to a remote Portuguese village, Xavier, Helena and their two children soon discover that the home they inherited is surrounded in mystery, curses, superstition and old folk tales. Villagers whisper and the rumors fly as the family tries to uncover the dark secrets hidden deep within the walls of their new house.

The Blood Rose: Mondo Macabro

When his new bride's face is hideously disfigured in a fire, Frederic Lansac, a famous society painter, is determined to restore her beauty. He seeks out a notorious plastic surgeon who is on the run from the authorities. Using Lansac's remote castle as a base, the two of the hunt down and imprison a series of young girls. Their skin is to be used in experiments aimed at restoring the face of Lansac's wife.

Boris Karloff Collection (11 movies on 3 discs): St. Clair Vision

While best known for his portrayal of Frankenstein, Karloff is an icon of classic horror whose velvety voice and creepy demeanor made him well suited to a diversity of macabre roles. This collection is a vast swath of Karloff’s career, including many of his lesser known features that paired him up with Hollywood cult legends like Roger Corman, Francis Ford Coppola, and a young Jack Nicholson. Eleven films in total, including THE SNAKE PEOPLE, THE APE, and 4 Mr. Wong adventures, make this a monstrous Karloff marathon of horror and suspense.

Christopher Lee Signature Collection: St. Clair Vision

His tall, lanky frame drifted elegantly across the screen as he portrayed a host of creepy villains and vampires, while his deep voice made these gruesome characters seem almost charming. Christopher Lee is a legend in both European and American horror, and the three classic films collected here are a cross section of his diverse acting abilities. In THE SATANIC RITES OF DRACULA, Lee is at his best in one of his signature roles as the demon of the night who is out not only for virgin blood, but seeks to destroy all humanity. SHERLOCK HOLMES AND THE DEADLY NECKLACE features Lee in another of his classic personas, while MURDER STORY has him playing a detective who might be on the trail of his own death. All three showcase Lee as a sophisticated character actor with a hint of darkness.

Dark Shadows: The Beginning, Collection 1 (4-disc set): MPI

With its alluring tales of Gothic mystery and supernatural intrigue, DARK SHADOWS became one of the most popular daytime series of all time. Since first airing on ABC-TV from 1966-71, DARK SHADOWS has earned the reputation as being one of the most unusual and enduring programs in broadcasting history. The character of Barnabas Collins, a guilt-ridden, 175-year-old vampire, brought the show tremendous success. Now, for the first time on DVD, MPI presents the spooky series' rare, early episodes before the arrival of Barnabas.

The first 35 Episodes of the Vampire Soap Opera arrive in a sweet little set.

Demons & Devils (10 movies on 2-discs): Mill Creek Entertainment

These 10 classic tales of demons and devils will make you shiver and shake, with Leif Garrett, Bela Lugosi, Lon Chaney Jr. and many more demonic stars!

Good Against Evil/The Severed Arm (Double Feature): Alpha Video

In GOOD AGAINST EVIL, A writer teams up with an exorcist to battle a group Devil worshippers. Trapped in a cave, five men cut the arm off of another companion in order to ward off starvation. After they are saved, their victim of THE SEVERED ARM seeks revenge on them one by one.

Horror House on Highway 5: Timeless

This odd, campy 1985 cult classic pits a van full of college students against a vicious killer who wears a Richard Nixon mask.

Horrors of Malformed Men: Panik House/Synapse (TEX’S PICK OF THE WEEK)

After escaping from an asylum, young medical student Hirosuke assumes the identity of a dead man in order to solve the mystery of a weird doppleganger whose picture he sees in the newspaper. Traveling to faraway Panorama Island, he discovers a mad scientist surgically remaking normal human beings into misshapen monsters…but that is only the beginning. Hirosuke soon learns the horrible truth about the island and his own family’s shameful past, and finds himself plunged into the depths of incest, murder, and madness.

Lon Chaney Jr. Signature Collection: St. Clair Vision

Lon Chaney Jr. will always be remembered as the Wolf-Man, but his diverse skills allowed him to play a host of other memorable horror characters. In this three movie set, Chaney’s classic performances capture the unique spirit of 1950s and '60s horror. Whether he’s playing a mute murderer brought back from the dead, or the Devil himself, Chaney’s unique body language and facial gestures make every one of these screen moments memorable. This collection is a journey back to a time when the actors made the roles rather than the special effects.

Masters of Horror: Season One Box Set (14-disc set): Anchor Bay

The complete season one Box Set arrives for Showtime’s Masters of Horror—at a price that will make fans who bought the individual releases want to kill themselves!

Messiah of Evil/Sisters of Death (Double Feature): Alpha Video

In MESSIAH OF EVIL, A seaside town is haunted by zombie villagers. In SISTERS OF DEATH an all-girl secret society initiation proves deadly as one of the new members is killed playing Russian Roulette.

Snake Woman’s Curse: Panik House/Synapse

Chobei, the wealthy landlord of a rural village, incurs a ghostly wrath after he causes the death of a poor farmer living on his land. One day, after forcing the man’s wife and beautiful daughter to work as servants in his household, he kills a snake that the farmer’s wife had tried to protect, and finds himself slowly going mad, glimpsing rotting corpses and deathly spirits all around him. Even his son Takeo cannot escape, and begins to notice that his new bride has certain peculiar characteristics…like scales and green skin! Can Chobei set things right before the spirits of the dead come to claim him and fulfill the promise of the Snake Woman’s Curse?

Vampira: The Movie: Alpha Video

The true life story of the world's first TV horror movie host is unveiled in this labor-of-love documentary. Bonus features include: Director Commentary, Screening lectures, Music video, Trailer, Outtakes, "Joe Flynn Show" Vampira episode and more.

Vincent Price Signature Collection: St. Clair Vision

There are few things in horror movie history as iconic as the voice of Vincent Price--a voice that echoed through the theaters and sent chills down patron's backs. This collection includes three classic Price films that showcase him at his spookiest. Whether he’s playing an eccentric millionaire in HOUSE ON HAUNTED HILL, a scientist who is the sole survivor of the apocalypse in THE LAST MAN ON EARTH, or as a suspicious Doctor in THE BAT, Price’s signature delivery captures the mood and aesthetic of 1950s/'60s horror.
