Today Rob Zombie revealed three really crazy new stills from his remake to Halloween, which hits theaters everywhere this Friday!! Read on to check 'em out and watch BDTV for new interviews all week! After being committed for 17 years, Michael Myers, now a grown man and still very dangerous, is mistakenly released from the mental institution (where he was committed as a 10 year old) and he immediately returns to Haddonfield, where he wants to find his baby sister, Laurie. Anyone who crosses his path is in mortal danger.

As is ANY of us woulda ever known that the orig. was a star trek mask unless,we heard it from Carpenter or some Pedo fanboy off the net....

At any rate,at least the blood looks decent, instead of very light red water w/ a touch of Karo.....i hate that

I think the picture of little Michael in the mask is damn creepy and a good idea. I like that he (RZ) is giving the mask history and an explanation why he wears it. Now whether or not the idea will work remains to be seen. I'm stoked for friday. My feeling is that this will turn out pretty good compared to most remakes.

Awesome pictures! I seriously can't wait to see this one.

I hear you Jonny. I kind of like the story behind the mask too. Little Mikey looks so damn creepy in it. I just hope that if there are any more sequels, they will keep some continuity with the mask and use it over and over. I hated the way the mask always changed from the classic look, to the white pasty part 4 mask (on a fat Micheal no less!) and the absurd attempt at a mask in part 5. The first time I saw the trailer with little Mikey with the mask on, I was creeped out. Well Friday is the day Jonny. I'll be here Friday night to call it either way. If it is good, then I hope RZ comes back for a sequel. If it sucks, then put Mikey on the shelf. Either way, I tend to think that even if it sucks, but is a cash cow, they'll make another. RZ can say he's not coming back, but for the right $$$, he'll be back. I just hope he again goes in a different direction and not a Hospital sequel. Personally I did not like part 2 as much as others like it. It wasn't scary, just gory. Michael was no longer in the shadows, but was too visable. Again a testement to how the original is in a league by itself.

I don't know how scary this is going to be. I know it will be gory. The mask is awesome. I just hope it isn't JASON wearing it. I hope Zombie has given Michael more personality than just some hacker in a mask but the reviews I've read so far have said otherwise. We will see pretty darn quick.

Well said P.W. There is something really creppy about little Michael in that oversized mask. The image of him walking down the hallway in the trailer was awesome. I got big plans ready for this Friday. I am anxious and nervous to see it. I have a good feeling about it for the most part. Just from the stills we have seen and the trailer, I think it will be dark and edgy, probably gory knowing RZ's history. But if it works, we could have one helluva movie, and one DVD I'll purchase for the collection, right next to my Carpenter version.

This is the movie to see. Death Sentence doesn't even look to much like a horror movie it looks more like revenge. As for a sequel Rob said no way to it but if it gets positve reviews then he might reconsider. I actually didn't want a reboot to the franchise but after I started thinking I had nowhere else to go. The only way to carry on would be to bring back Jamie Lee Curtis and to do that they would have to make a tree or something break her fall after Michael stabbed her in Ressurection. But, I think that would just be to phony. S

I would say that come friday, everyones pissing and bitching about this sh*t would end, hell, its only gonna get worse AFTER the movie is seen...as I've said before, anything is better than another lame as**"celtic demons control some tard in a mask that almost looks like Myers has Down's syndrome starring flavor flav" or some sh*t....btw I'm picking up the soundtrack, anyone else??

People are so used to film's hyper-realism they don't believe the real thing when it's in front of them. "It's amazing how nothing seems really real until you viddy them on a screen." For every Ted Bundy there's a Zodiac, who have nothing in their background to suggest the crimes they'd commit; and THAT is really scary. I'll wait for video.

A positive new review over at AICN.....but the celebration's quickly cut short when temperred with the following comment "I know a lot of horror press in the internet community are having a hard time digesting what Zombie's cooked up....." Before everyone starts with the AICN is specifically anti-ROB sh%t try to remember that the site is dedicated to all things related to the movies and that ROB Zombie is but a grain of sand on that site, though some of you would try to spin it otherwise.....

Thanks SAURON for the info over at AICN. That was a positive review. I've seen a couple statements made from movie reviewer's since the premiere, and they have all been positive. I have a feeling this will be a pretty good film. Again, no matter what, there will be those who will tear this movie up and hate it "Just Because" they can't get past that a classic is being touched. Something tells me we will see a split down the middle from most people, but I guess that's to be expected. 3 days and counting.....

P.W.
2:04pm, August 28, 2007

I agree 100% Jonny. There will probably be a split based on the "just because" factor. I too am cautiously optimistic about this movie, but really amped. After a years worth of debate with you and Sauron all I can say is, it better be good! LOL. I am pretty happy with most things I've read, but still not crazy about some things i.e. too much sanitarium stuff may bore us. I am also iffy on the whole humanizing of Michael, although if you think about it, he was born not created in the original. I just don't want him to be de-mystified at all. I am hopeful that he still keeps coming after being dropped. I am also hoping for some type of suspesful scene like the original 78' closet scene. That scene is the stuff of legends. When Michael began to rise from the floor after being stabbed in the closet, I remember the whole theater flipping out. That too is the stuff of legends. Fingers crossed.

Jonny Horror

P.W. You are dead on what I was thinking. The sanitarium portion of the film is what I am most concerned about. It may not work too well, remains to be seen. I'm really liking the childhood part of it that we have seen and the explanation behind "the" mask. My gut is the last 45 minutes of the film when he's killing and stalking Laurie will be intense and the big payoff. The trailer, in my opinion, really reels you in. I love the shot of little Mikey walking down the hall wearing the mask and clown outfit. Thats a creepy idea that I bet works.

AICN is nothing but rob hating morons.. honestly, heres how it starts: "this person really liked this film".. then he goes on "but from what ive heard from others its terrible" or somthing like that.. you see even when they are giving a positive review, they have to throw in the fact that no matter what they will hate this movie.. PATHETIC!

pissing_lasers
6:20pm, August 28, 2007

Yeah,I kinda wondered awhile back if Myers will actually get up and walk away in the end like in the original, hoping that wont be changed in the remake......I dont wonder that anymore..

sauronthepowerful
9:38pm, August 28, 2007

That's about right. I'm sure with the HUNDREDS of titles being released that they're just a bunch of pathetic ROB-hating morons. Come on dude. That site has been around long before this project was even a gleam in Rob's eye and it'll be around long after. Contrary to popular belief, ROB Zombie is not the center of the cinematic universe. Rumor as it that Variety magazine also killed it in their review, but then I guess they must also be a bunch of pathetic, ROB-hating morons. Puh-leeze.....

Haddonfreak
1:45am, August 29, 2007

After all this time I still don't understand why everything is all about Rob. There has been some Rob bashing, but this is about Halloween. If it sucks, who gives a crap who directed it, because it still sucks. It could be Miner, Carpenter, etc... Everyone is kissing Rob's ass around here and it is getting a little lame. Zombie wrote it and directed it, basically using THEEE classic movie to get his base material from (so it wasn't ALL him folks... He had a blueprint)! The Weinsteins produced it. Dimension released it. It is a team effort. Here is something... they ALL have released big stinking pieces of crap before (did I mention Akkad also)? Anyhow, it is about the movie for me. If it got a bad review, it got a bad review. If good, well... Goood! If Rob sucked as a director or writer, he should be bashed beyond oblivion. If he did well, he should be praised. But get off your Rob loving asses and focus on the movie here. Don't start tearing because someone took a shot at this flick. Just because someone didn't like it doesn't mean they have a picture of Rob Zombie on their dart board. It is getting old that anyone, and I mean anyone, who says anything that is not outstanding praise about this film is a Rob Zombie hater. Give me a freakin' break.... AGAIN!! The folks who rip the people who bash this movie say "they haven't seen it yet and need to give it a chance". Well these are the same people who praise this movie without even seeing it! What kind of sense does that make?

GoliathSlasher
9:52am, August 29, 2007

no im going to stick with this one sauron, i wont get technical, but ill stick.. ive been on AICN way before i came here.. i know what iys about, and i never said rob was the center of the universe, but in the horror boards he is. every little ounce of info on rob zombie, or a project of his, right away at least 17 comments on why rob sucks or why the movie is going to suck (because of rob). they are just rob haters, there is so much of that stuff its hard to pick out anything people say positive.

I will definitely go see this movie
