For my money, the best Halloween sequel was part 4. The mask was a bit weak, but IMO Alan McElroy's script got the atmosphere and emphasis on suspense better than any of the others, and until H20 was the only one that seemed as if though anyone involved understood anything about what made the original work. So needless to say, I have always been interested in whatever horror projects McElroy worked on since. Now he's got a new thriller according to Variety, called Valet, set for distribution from Alcon and Warner Bros. His script is inspired by true events involving a parking attendant who became obsessed with a female customer and systematically inserted himself into her life. Hopefully, the message of the movie is "Stop being so goddamn lazy and park your car yourself."
