Davis DVD reports that Warner Home Video will at long last release Poltergeist: 25th Anniversary Edition on October 9th. The DVD will feature a newly remastered 2.40:1 anamorphic widescreen transfer and Dolby Digital 5.1 track. Extras will include the new documentary "They're Here: The Real World of Poltergeists Revealed" (Part One - The Science Of The Spirit, Part Two - Communication With The Dead), a making-of featurette and trailer gallery. Retail is $19.97. Unfortunately, however, it appears that Warners has cancelled any HD-DVD and Blu-ray release for this title until 2008.
I've been waiting for this!
