If there's one thing I miss about New England, it's Dunkin' Donuts. But if there's two things, it's Dunkins and Newbury Comics, which was my go-to place for CDs, DVDs, toys, magazines, and yes, comics. So when I saw Hatchet last year, I was amazed to see the hero of the film wearing a Newbury Comics shirt. This made a great film was made all the more special to me, and now it's come full circle as Newbury will be hosting a special screening of Adam Green's award-winning slasher gem on September 4th, just a few days before its long-awaited theatrical release. Read on for details...
Per The Hatchet Army:
"Newbury Comics, a New England-based comic book chain, will be hosting a special Hatchet screening on Wednesday, September 4th at the AMC Loews Boston Commons. A limited number of tickets are available to the public. The Newbury Comics T-shirt worn by star Joel David Moore throughout the film is a shoutout to writer/director Adam Green’s favorite comic book store, where he bought all his horror movies and action figures while growing up."
I am guessing that these suckers will be gone fast, so check out Newbury Comics or visit your closest store for more info.
Hatchet is in theaters on September 7th. And you should be right there with it.
