Thumbs up to Lionsgate for another breathtaking piece of art. Read on to check it out and check out Saw IV in theaters everywhere on October 26. Watch for our Comic Con coverage this weekend.

"Breathtaking piece of art"? Only if you've forgotten how badass horror movie posters were in the 70s and 80s...

boring ........... yawn

It's a trap

Couldnt agree more, the 70s posters are the best of all time.

lolz i have to say... that is pretty pathetic, it makes no sence, plus also the logos of saw are always in a sentence like number one was every puzzle has its pieaces and number 2 was oh yes, there will be blood and number 3 was suffering? you haven't see anything yet. plus also on each top of the cover they had a saw blade running across the top where it says the comments of other ppl liek for number 3 it was better then saw 1 and saw 2 combinded by steve tilley, toronto sun. if you see what i mean. and also they have a number of parts of the body for each cover, number one was a foot or an eye peeking through the jigsaw pieace for the promotional short version number 2 was 2 fingures and number 3 was 3 teeth and all this one was is a head, i dont think it is at all in anyways if you ask me, the team can do way better then that pieace of fictional crap!

and also in the very background where the light soft grey fade area is on the covers of all the other saws they are just plain white backgrounds abnd the person whoever made that would of only put the greyness in the background just to make it look more authentic, i've checked em all the similarities really don't match up at all.

It's a trap??? Well no sh*% I think we know that by now. The only people falling into this trap are the people paying to watch it.

I'll gladly put my head in the middle of the trap and let it SNAP!! This flick comes out ON my b-day, and I haven't seen any of the Saw films in the theater. I've liked (and own) the first 3, so this one gets the big screen for sure. I do however think the poster is phony. Not because of the "number of body parts" or "saw blades", but because Lionsgate knows better than to leave themselves wide open for ridicule on an already chastised movie series. "It's a trap." sounds more like somebody's opinion mixed with handy dandy Photo Shop. Not like the official tagline. They might as well say "Saw IV: Down the tubes." Cool pic though.

anyone there?

zombiethecorpseeater
9:41am, July 25, 2007

This is why the horror genre is failing again cause morons like these people here have to complain about everything. Yes 70s and 80s movie were the best but its 2007 and we have to support what we get now or we'll be first to watch nothing but Grudge and Ring and all that PG-13 crap in theatres. Losers!

It's a trap, mmm? I went to the Saw4.com Web site and that was definitely a trap. Was not pleased. I hope this means that they'll put more action "in the moment" instead of those explanatory aha flashbacks. This poster gives me a little hope for the movie...

its a trap ... but i like the poster im sad so ...

10:44am, July 25, 2007

i bet the guy that died wasent jig it was his twin thats the trap hes ALIVE lol

Deathbat
10:54am, July 25, 2007

LoL, I was thinking that n0rman_666. Except without the whole twin thing. I mean, Jigsaw's heads severed there which lets us continue to believe he's dead. Yet at the same time, the tagline 'It's a trap' leads me to believe that the poster's misleading and Jigsaw's miraculously alive.

would donny wahlberg be happier if they used him on the poster?

tymishu78
12:01pm, July 25, 2007

I like it. I thought the first 3 Saw movies were good. This one has my interest because it will make or break this series depending on where they go with the story. So hopefully it's good.

12:34pm, July 25, 2007

for all your people looking for the 4: The weighing scales is on an 8. It is Saw IV. Half of 4 is 2. 8 divided by 2 is 4. BOOYA.

Joes_large_portion
1:10pm, July 25, 2007

I dunno, ive always had a feeling saw 4 would incude parts of jigsaws body and scales for part of jeffs new puzzle. It was just they way jigsaw said "tools to extract your pound of flesh" at the end of saw 3. Even if the posters a fake i'd still say it's probably pretty close guess as to what jeff has to do to get to his daughter. It'll probably involve jeff having to extract a pound of his own flesh in return tho! That would be cool to watch!

Nick402
1:24pm, July 25, 2007

Meh...I don't really like it. Besides, it'll never get past the MPAA.

chrisby
1:33pm, July 25, 2007

yeh you can also tell that its not the offical poster by the The weighing scales, if it was original it would be on the 4 and also the red pointer pointing to the 8 in the middle is also obviously computer generated u can tell by its shading underneath, and all other saw covers are the actual props.

chrisby
1:37pm, July 25, 2007

also jigsaw had part of his head shaven before lynn cut into his brain and where the bandage is it doesnt add up plus they would of put blood seeping throguh the bandages or sutmhing i reckon.

South_park300
2:03pm, July 25, 2007

considering the average human head weighs 8 pounds, it would make NO sense for it to be on 4. if it was on 4, it would catch a lot more complaints. i really like the poster

You guys do understand that this poster is the UK one right? I think the u.s/canada poster will be out later this month, along with the website.

You know what I noticed about this site? It rocks, best horror site ever. Some of the people on it... know-it-all pricks, and they're dumb to boot. Which is entertaining and annoying at the same time. Mr. Disgusting makes this site a lot of fun, and then a-holes come along and bitch. Quite being so lame! Go back to your mother's basement and continue jerking off to anime, loser. Quit being such a pain in the ass and annoying the rest of us! That is all, thank you.

Nick402
5:05pm, July 25, 2007

And that tagline. "Its a trap."?? What the fuck? And Zombster...I hope you won't see anything released by Lionsgaye. Bratz: The Movie is just too much.

Nick402, I was just about to comment back and say that! Let me refrain, I'll see any HORROR movie released by Lionsgate. Although, I would go see Bratz: The Sausage Movie.

I think the poster looks cool. From wut I heard the poster is clue for the ending so who knows

Hobbit1978
8:03am, July 26, 2007

Wow, is it going to take a graphic designer with an eye for these sort of things to point out some of the "movie 4" references? #1: The obvious one being that the head weighs 8 pounds divided by 2 is 4. #2: There's 4 chain links below the pan. #3: 8 links above the pan. Divide by 2 = 4. Plus, the head doesn't look like his eyes are all the way closed, he's aLIVE!! WooHoo! And for whomever started going on about the fact that his head was shaved in the movie and all that crap, get a clue...this head is bandaged! That means that the operation was done and he's in recovery. HA! Ok, that's enough from me. Enough clueing in the losers who can't see things for themselves.

Turry
10:27am, July 26, 2007

I think it's a wonderful poster. It raises just enough questions to get you interested. This comment section alone is proof of that, it has eveyone talking already!

Mr. Cioffoletti
12:12pm, July 26, 2007

Hey chrisby, If you think about it the first movie poster was only limbs. It was the second movie that started the body number symbol. Saw 3 didn't have to or need to cause if you think about it, Saw 1 didn't so Saw 4 don't have to either. My opinion is that so far the Saw 4 has the best poster. It keeps in the style of all the Saw posters and you can bet that the DVD will have a clear casing. Saw 3 they didn't try hard enough. Saw 2 was commical. Saw 1 started it all. BTW... There is two limbs on the cover of Saw 1.

Mr. Cioffoletti
12:24pm, July 26, 2007

Anyone who is looking for a number 4... I see that the side profile of Jigsaws head in the shape of one. See it? Maybe we are all looking just to hard. It doesn't need it.

BuffaloBill06
12:44am, July 27, 2007

CHRISBY....do you have any idea what the hell you are talking about? "it makes no sence" how does it not make sense? Have u seen the movie yet? Didn't think so. I know something that does make sense...you cant spell for shit. "it says the comments of other ppl liek for number 3 it was better then saw 1 and saw 2 combinded by steve tilley, toronto sun"....um people cant put reviews on a poster if they haven't watched the film yet, DUH! Wow I feel like the most intelligent person in the world right now compared to your dumb ass.

Nate2008
4:09am, July 27, 2007

I see a 4 easily, start with his head, go around the scale thing with the thin bar, and then the chain that drops down by his head, thats the 4.

3:38pm, July 27, 2007

not pissed and not trap..u know why?? cus its showing u that the film is about memories>>you got it now..and the poster is good

alright well im sorry chrisby first of all it is an actual poster its actually called a teaser... it was released in the uk and if u didnt notice with the other three movies there were more than one poster for each of them... ie: the very first saw released back in 2004 had a poster of amanda with the reverse bear trap and it read Saw in red lettering... nothing to do with the dvd covers or body parts but it was in fact an actual poster... in my opinion this poster is ten times better than the one released at the comic con and i wouldnt be surprised if alot of people agreed. this poster is sick
