As you all may have figured out by now we're championing Michael Dougherty's Trick 'r Treat (review), which everyone's still dying to know when it hits theaters. As we wait, we can at least look forward to the newly announced toy from Sideshow Collectibles, which features one of the coolest creatures from the film that stars Anna Paquin, Brian Cox, Dylan Baker and Leslie Bibb. Read on for details.

Pre-order here!

Premier manufacturer of licensed merchandise, Sideshow Collectibles will be releasing a line of product for Warner Brothers' new Halloween film release Trick 'r Treat. Sideshow will release a 15-inch vinyl figure based on the film's central character, Sam, which will retail for approximately $54.99.

Trick 'r Treat marks the directorial debut of Superman Returns writer Mike Dougherty, and is comprised of four interwoven stories all taking place on the same mysterious Halloween night. The holiday tales share a terrifying lesson on the dangers of forgetting the true evils of All Hallows Eve and the spirit of Halloween. While little is known about the central character, Sam, he appears as a small boy with his head covered by a burlap sack and clad in footy-pajamas.

The figure will make its premiere display at Sideshow's booth at the 2007 San Diego Comic Con.

Yeah, that little guy is what got me curious about this too. But I don't think I'd spend that much on a toy since I don't collect toys, and it'd just end up collecting dust here. But it's pretty cool looking. Can't wait for the movie.
