Last week I was interviewed as part of a special segment on Bloomberg TV regarding the state of horror, which can now be viewed over at BDTV. You can watch as they hilariously add Lionsgate's "Condemned" to the mix as if it's a horror film, and giggle at my ear piece that I'm wearing in order to hear the questions asked all the way from NY. But in the end it's a pretty good segment and I think I sum it up quite nicely... give me some good product damnit! Your opinions on the piece are welcome here or under the video.
Gosh they sounded out of place talking about these movies lol. Good piece though, I think you did sum it up perfectly. Congrats on B-D's mentions in the press.
I think Disgusting did great. The other guys looked a bit fish out of water. Plus it's as easy as bad movies, no matter what genre, make less money than good movies. We had a large crop of crap this year, of course profits are down.
Well done appearing on Bloomberg.
I agree with what you said about the quality and
timing of some of the movies.
In regards to Hostel 2. Lets face it Eli Roth influences are the Italian horror giallo movies of the 60's and 70's - those movies where made more for the grind house circuit. So as far as money making. I don't know if that was the main aim of the producers at the time. Plus the torture/women thing, I don't think many would have been that into that theme.
Let's see the horror gene up the ante with ideas, can Hollywood do it?
I still think The Thing remake early 80's for both gore and just plain horror is one of the best .
Cool slasher fantasy flicks like Nightmare on Elm street, stuff like that.
keep up the good work
