Bloody-Disgusting learned today that you can finally check out Dave Payne's Reeker (review) on Showtime with a DVD releases slated for September 25 from Paramount, nearly a year after it was originaly planned for release. No word yet on extras, but we'll keep you posted. In the film uoung strangers trapped at an eerie travel oasis in the desert must unravel the mystery behind their visions of dying people while they are preyed upon by a decaying creature.
This flick was only released in Canada. It was release there as the "Unrated Version". Lets hope Paramount gives it the same treatment... Paramount needs to bite the bullet and start releasing their horror titles uncut.
For those of you who dont want to wait until september, the film is actually airing on the Showtime network NOW! As of this moment its on the showtime on demand service whic comes with our cable package. A know that they have aired it with their regular programming as well. I caught it on tv two nights ago. Saw this last year on a Region 2 disc. Loved it. Thought it was alot better than most of the horror films currently landing shitting up our theater chains. Great atmosphere. Bloody as all hell. And a truly original, very, very cool looking villain. And better yet he's not tying anyone up, and torturing them to death. Can't wait to get the Region 1 disc.
