Ever since Lionsgate began production on Saw IV a few months ago we've been digging hardcore at getting you all of the names cast in the film - today we've got everything for you, along with an official synopsis. Read on for the skinny on Darren Lynn Bousman's latest.
Jigsaw and his apprentice Amanda are dead.
Now, upon the news of Detective Kerry's murder, two seasoned FBI profilers, Agent Strahm and Agent Perez, arrive in the terrified community to assist the veteran Detective Hoffman in sifting through Jigsaw's latest grizzly remains and piecing together the puzzle.
However, when SWAT Commander Rigg is abducted and thrust into a game, the last officer untouched by Jigsaw has but ninety minutes to overcome a series of demented traps and save an old friend or face the deadly consequences.

No way. Not to early for a count down, Oct. 26th can't come soon enough!! Rigg...in a game...90 mins. to save an old friend? I heard Donnie Wahlberg was in Toronto during the filming of Saw 4...he was in the Toronto newspaper..the caption read.."in town shooting Saw 4" could have been a mistake...or is he the old friend Rigg must rescue?
Now this is intreging...by the way, Jill was NOT John's wife. She was a girlfriend. Now that it is in black and white that Jigsaw and Amanda are in fact dead people will shut the hell up about it but I will not hold my breath because someone will bitch about this article.
soo...i'm guessing Jigsaw will just be laying there dead for the whole movie, as people cut him open, and there's clues inside of him? could be a cool idea, if that's what it is
I think the part about Riggs is the main plot, the producers said there will be four plots in the movie. So Riggs getting taken, OH MAN!This is going to be bitchin!
Yeh sounds like its gonna be an awesome movie with a great ending, but has anyone noticed no one has lasted 3 films in the series so far everyone that makes it to there 3rd film dies in that film...i juss hope Rigg lives he is awesome but i am guessing he is gonna die...
I hope the characters actually have common sense in this one. Everyone else that was ever in jiggy's traps were complete idiots. It'd be nice to actually feel for the characters instead of cheering for the gore. But whodafuck am I kidding, I can't wait either way!!!
I also take it we're never going to find/see/hear about the remnants of the infamously disputed Dr. Gordon? I'd just like to know the finalized version of how he died, and see it summed up on screen. It's common sense he's dead, I don't want to hear any more bitchingandmoaning from the nutjobs.
and im thinking in the 3rd one, the connection will Obi is maybe Jigsaw's girlfriend kidnapped him, either that or maybe his girfriend was cheating on Jigsaw with Obi so then Jigsaw kidnapped him.
I think saw 4's gunna be awsome! But theres still a few things bugging me about the first saw movie..
1) Jigsaw despises murderers...yet he doesn't mind slashing danny glover in the throat with a big heffin blade? It's damn lucky danny survived or good ole jiggy would have had to put himself through a game...
2) Again whats with that guy with the drills aimed at his head? Jigsaw gets angry at amanda's unwinable traps yet i dont see how the guy could have got out of that one. Lucky the cops showed up really... (notice that guys called jeff too?)
3) Why have they never explained why dr gordons pen was found at one of the traps? They seemed to make a big deal over it to begin with and then nothing...i know jigsaw could have easily taken it with dr gordon spending so much time around him but was there any kind of point to it? Or was it just to throw us of the scent a bit more?
And finally the chances of one cancer patient suddenly deciding to kill people in horrific traps thats hes built himself are slim but theres a chance...the chance of him catching an equally insane person in one of these traps who then joins him and also has the ability to build some pretty complicated traps is very very rare...which is why im glad amandas dead, the ending to saw 2 really pissed me off! So please, in saw 4, no more equally crazy followers of jigsaw, let it all be somthing he's pre-set up, and if rig's gunna be kidnapped i hope the kidnapper is doing it for more personal reasons like zepp was!
in response to Joes_large_portion, for ur second thing about saw 1. the the drills were not Jeff's test. it was the cops test to see if they would rather capture jigsaw or save this man's life, much like "the rack" scene in #3 in which the other jeff has to decide if he would save his son's killer's life or not
I Think the close friend of Rigg is det. Matthews Ex or Wife or whatever they are because and Saw 2 they mention Matthews' Wife but not for a lot of stuff. And Rigg and Eric were probably friends so i am guessing if they were friends then Eric's wife was probably friends with Rigg...
to me saw 3's ending was pathetic, they either should of made it a 3 course movie or they should of made it a better ending where they kept the original characters so they could make it more of a prophecy ending.
clearly if u ask me number 3 was the biggest mistake they
ever did, ill admit it was a good movie but yeh. they should
of had somthing like instead of killing amanda jeff and his
wife lynn escaped but before they did after he cut johns
throat he put the contraption (reverse beartrap) on her head
again from number 1 the very first one she was tested with
and then she had to cut john open to get the key. which
would probly end up killing her anyways becase she wouldnt
be able to cut him open because the way she feels abotu him.
and then they could of had jeffs voice somthing liek jigsaws
saying the key to ur life is within ur dead sell mates body.
that would be cool then she could escape from that.
and then a few years after play a final game. where all
these ppl wake up in different parts of a house all with
numbers in the back of their head and jigsaw pieaces kinda
cut out. and then aroudn them theres a gallery of all the
ppl who have been tested and failed. and a shrien for
jigsaw. but in the middle of the room theres a chick hanging
kinda thing being held up by chains from her arms and legs
and yeh on a platform.
and at the end she just takes her arms out and stuff and
then walks off and it being amanda. and everyone who woek up
there was actually doing the same test as jigsaw tested them
kinda thing.
but only one of them kinda ends up passing and yeh amanda
finishes them kinda thing because shes still a killer but
now knows that the games are played for a reason since
jigsaw tested her for killing the innocent.
or they could of had jigsaw escape and then hes still kinda on his deathbed so he goes and works at a carnival kinda thing on liek puppets and the horeses for the merry go rounds and makes traps up in the process. that would be kewl, give it a new edge.
im just saying they could of had a better ending then what they did, they should of kept amanda alive she was clearly a good idea to keep going with

As i think about it and how there is suppose to be someone from the first film coming back, i was thinking and most people say different people are coming back, but i am thinking it is Det. Tapp i meen just think he got a big slash in his throat and lived he could have lived from a gun shot to the chest, and they said Rigg has to save an old friend it could be Tapp because they both are cops so they were probably friends too...
I dont completely agree with Jigsaw and Amanda dying at the end but it was still an awesome movie as for Dr Gordons pen being at the scene of the trap in the first one that might lead to somthing because i still have the thought that he might be the new jigsaw i mean maybe the whole first saw was setup like gordon new what he was gonna do amanda did that in the second one its deff a possibility
I just noticed somthing... In saw 1 remember the scene where theres the 4 of them in jigsaws layer, jeff whos in a trap with drills, then detective tapp who gets his throat sliced, then the other detective who gets his head blown off with shotgun shells and jigsaw who gets shot leaving only jeff..... then remember the last scene in saw 3 where theres the 4 of them in jigsaws layer, jeff whos in a trap (drills have just been used too to open jigsaws head), then jigsaw who gets his throat sliced, then jeffs wife who gets her head blown off with shotgun shells and amanda who gets shot leaving only jeff..... strange how similar these two scenes really are, and remember when jigsaw told the old jeff who was in the chair "you are here to be a test for somthing much greater" or somthing to that extent? I dunno, but there seems to be somthing fishy about it all.
If u ask me, this saw is gonna be stupid. i mean im dying to see it, i check updates for it everyday but yeah. like none of it is making any sence so far. and people are still saying it's rigg in that chair! Why would rigg be wearing stillettoes and the female pig mask. lolz so if im completely stumped!

Good point, we don't see his face all the way through that scene but when the detective calls him sick he goes off on a rant about the cancer thats killing him and it's tobin's voice.
Ok i think ive found a major flaw... in saw 1 zepp has that computer set up at doctors gordons house so he can keep an eye on whats happening in the toilet right? So why didn't any cops decide to trace the feed like they did in saw 2? Did they just think "oh a mad man kidnapped the wife and daughter, told her he was going to kill her husband and disappeared for ever, lets not bother checking his computer for any hint of whats happend". I think im watching these films a little too much, but i just can't wait for part 4! Wooooo!
ok people there was a reason why jigsaw and amanda died it was because they were not planing to make another saw the only reason they made this one was because the 3rd one made alot of money so they made the 4th so all you people out there that are saying thta the 4th one is not going to make more sance its because u don't know why jigsaw and amanda was killed ok oh an if u noticed at thae end of the 3rd one the guy was still alive so i would not be surpised if he is the new killer
I hope i'm not preaching to the choir when i say that i hope u all know that Dr. Lawrence Gordon will be in saw 4, and he WAS in saw 2 if you did'nt already know; and not only in flashbacks either. In saw 2 it clearly shows a BLONDE hooded man with a LIMP, operating on the guy with the "eye/key" situtuation. Dr. Gordondid not 'technichaly' pass jigsaw's test because he shot adam to late. But did u ever think about why amanda just 'tossesd' the key on adam's chest in the 1st saw? adam was meant to win his game, but the key went down the drain. Here is what confuses me: why would John want adam to win? At the end of saw 1, john says" the key to that chain, is in the bathtub..." so obviously john wanted to adam to get out of his trap as soon as he could. But then, that would make it almost impossible for the doctor to complete HIS game, which was to kill adam before SIX OCLOCK. how could the Dr. kill adam if adam would have slowly gotten out of the tub, not losing the key, and just leaving the room? The only way this could happen is if Gordon cut his own foot off, then limped after adam! it doesnt make sense! My thoughts have been that Adam wasn't only taking picturer for Danny glover's Character( Tapp), but for john as well. Who know's how many photos john has in his posession , of new victims not yet captured. Also, Detective Tapp (danny glover) just couldnt' drop the favt that gordon was innocent, why do you think that is? in the 1st moive after gordon leaves the hotel room, he pulls his car up to a random garage door next to a payphone. Which is when amando captures him. But obviously it was a common stop for the doctor, because how did john know to mess with that phone?! and if it was a common stop, what is in that garage???or w/e it is? don't you think that a surgeon could afford a cellphone? why use a payphone? Also take a look at john's hand at the scene where Zep says : His name is John" it then shows john laying in the hospital bed, withwhat looks like a PENLIGHT in his hand! hmmm. *CHANGE* why would john slit detective tapp's throat in the 1st saw, becuase john knew that it doesnt always kill you, which is why he was not worriedwhen in saw 3 , Jeff went for His throat, because it was a clean cut just like danny glover's. and, are we really sure that danny glover is dead? he was shot by zep but, just wondering...back to the cutting tho, John Is the only one who knows where the daughter is. Now, all the directors and stuff keep saying that saw 4 stars and john is dead, but he's still in the movie, well guess what , in the start , HE IS DEAD, but Dr. Gordon might just run in there and Sew his throat right up , so therefoe John IS daed in the 'start' of Saw 4 , but maybe only for a minute before gordon revives him....
Ok XamplesSample if you didnt watch the making of Saw 2 when it starts with Michaels eye trap Donnie Wahlberg aka Detective Matthews says that me not Jigsaw he wasnt there when they did that scene, so he had to act like him and fill in because they needed someone, and Darren Lyn Bousman says people in the rooms like these say its Dr. Gordon but its not, its Matthews filling in for Jigsaw...
Ok dumass " dadon" just because the ACTOR didnt play the role, doesnt mean that the character changes.EXAMPLE: the guy that plays adam, plays the chinese cop when he dies by the shotguns,
AND when he firts enters jigsaw's lair. Just because the Cary Elwes didnt didnt play the role, doesnt mean its not doctor gordon. They would have edited the blonde chunck of hair out if they didnt want it in their. Donnie Walhburg doesnt have LONG BLONDE HAIR IDIOT. John doesnt have long blonde hair, he's balding in the front, so a lock of blonde hair sticking out, would have been EDITED OUT, not IN, if it was meant to be john.
btw xample, the idea of Adam being able to just walk out isnt right. The only reason Dr.Gordon could walk out is because Zepp had opened the door from the outside, Amanda shut the door behind Jigsaw.
Yes, Adam was supposed to get his key and unlock his shackle, but if you think about it, all it would have done is cause more conflict between him and Dr.Gordon, causing them to either fight more, or co-operate. (OR saw their feet off but thats different..)
But yeh :) cannot WAIT for Saw 4. I loved them all and I wish Jigsaw was still alive, but lets face it, how long can you delay killing someone who's terminally ill?
