B-D has learned this evening that Captain Spaulding himself, Sid Haig, will be joining the other Devil's Rejects (recently announced here; Bill Moseley, Leslie Easterbrook) in Rob Zombie's remake of Halloween, which hits theaters everywhere on August 31. We've been told that Haig will play a caretaker at the cemetery where Judith Myers is buried. You can see Sid Haig, Bill Moseley and the other stars of Halloween at the HorrorHound Weekend in Indianapolis July 6-8.
Hey "Slasher Freak" how many horror movies have you written and directed? Like or hate Zombie, at least he's got the balls to do a decent horror flick. Halloween 1 was good, two was passable and the rest were shit. This movie is gonna kick ass.
Fuck yeah, Rob!!!
(I think it's cool you gave that guy Haig from Spider Baby a cameo!!!!!)
I remember back in the winter when Zombie said he wouldn't be casting no more people from rejects, and here we are sitting on our third differnt news post saying differntly this week. Obviously he withheld this information to not make any more fans angry.
Filming was supposed to be completed and in the editing phase. I guess my question is why the new castings? Don't new castings mean new filming? Did something go wrong? And why all these "Rejects"? (No pun intended). Things are sure getting interesting.
Yea, maybe there were no NEW castings, just uncovered castings. There are still a lot of "rejects" in this film... Sorry, couldn't contain myself. HAHAHAHA!
Tom Towles was cast months ago, and just announced. Bill Moseley was cast last week, and Haig was cast two days ago. So do your damn homework before you go spouting off.
Also, for Christ's sake, the way to spell this man's 3 letter, monosyllabic name is S-I-D. Give literacy a whirl, kids.
No wonder this site is last on everything. And you know damn well your source was not "Bloody Disgusting", since it just went on Haig's MySpace page LAST NIGHT - That's how you found out. Just like everything else, you get your shit from other sites who ran it first.
Haddonfreak, we are doing what is called reshoots, and adding new scenes. No, something did not "go wrong". It's one of those things that film people do.
B-D, better make sure of the accuracy of that "where Judith Myers is buried" part, since the scene is not written yet. How do you have the power to know the future?
An interestingly smarmy reply from someone "close" to production.....Come on SHERRI stop tryin to hide behind that pseudonym. How reassuring to know that our little general has his underlings post out his frustrations when he claims to be oblivious to criticism because, as he say's, "life's too short." As a duly designated representative of that special 'ROB's Friend's' CLUB take note (and try to keep up if you can).....: The point of all of the humor in this latest (wasn't there just a TEST screening in NYC a few days ago???) "addition" is that everyone here as been predicting it as a joke for months. How far could ROB go, well Sid Haig hasn't been cast yet...(snickers loudly). Now he's here. All is right with the world (except for the fact that this "film" is getting made). BTW thanks for the little filmaking 101 seminar, we all feel the spirit of inspiration and grace that you took a moment of your divinely precious time to educate us about how really difficult it is to earn that paycheck, especially when the director has a resume about as long as a one-ply of scott a$s tissue.....Maybe you could donate some of that charitable magnanimity and instruct John Carpenter as to the essence of revenge-angst-emo-teen splat horror that he supposedly missed the first time around! Oh wait, ROB's already doing this by clarifying ""problems"" with the original. Or should YOU give LITERACY, as you call it, a try and reread Bobby's earlier interviews!!! Anytime you feel the need to exercise your literary 'superiority,' just bring it here with your apple and your little notebook and I'll be happy to give you the educational bitch-slap you two apparently so richly deserve.....Sauron
This has to be a re-shoot, re-cast situation if Sid Haig is playing the caretaker. Ezra Buzzington played the character during principal photography, he's posted pictures and a blog about his day on set.
Once again, I could care less who's in it or why they are in it as long as it pays off. Hello Sauron. It's been awhile, good to read that your still stirring the pot. Dark side ? Not quite yet. I'm still reserving judgement til I see it. If it indeed suck's, I'll proudly join The Legion of Doom. If I like it, I'll sing it's praises. So far, I like the trailer and the stills that I've seen. Again, I'm not thinking of the original, that stands alone and this is a NEW picture with new characters and storyline. Take it for what it is. Good or bad, I'll see it and then spew forth my positive or negative review.
Yeah, I gotta be honest, casting at this point is insignificant (but comical nonetheless). However, I do sense a new conflict in your conversations.....Perhaps the Dark Side will indeed have a powerful new ally.....
Standalone, a little valume please! I guess I did do my homework before I spouted off as you can see in both of my posts. Something new, something old, yes it was all there. Yes, I understand reshoots and I understand why they are done. Thank you for your insite Mr. Spielberg. As the all-insightful Sauron coined the term..."Rob's Friend's Club"... is running in full force. It seems more of a Zombie movement than a Halloween movement for a number of folks around here... (Hold on Luke, I may be headed for the dark side). Don't you think correcting the name SID to S-I-D is just S.A.D? Whoop-D-Freaking-Do. I'm sure Sid's eyes are welling up right now due to the snafu. On another note, I bet John Carpenter can't wait to see the Firefly (did I spell that right???) family in the remake of his classic. Ta Ta...
Very good point on the steel drums.... I'm glad I'm not the only one who recognized that little "quirk". Well, it beats the hell out of H7's theme-from-hell.
