'Hatchet 2' Plot, Join the Hatchet Army!

We caught up with writer-director Adam Green this weekend - who's Hatchet is coming to theaters on September 7 - where he revealed to us the basic plot for Hatchet 2 if it were to happen. In the sequel Kane Hodder's character (Victor Crowley) will go head-to-head with Tony Todd's character (Clive Washington), Green tells B-D exclusively. In addition to this news, we want to take the time to tell you guys about the HATCHET ARMY - where us horror fans can band together and get Hatchet the theatrical release it deserves. Last week the HATCHET ARMY was organized by a group of fans (with the blessing and help of the filmmakers) to rally and support an indie horror movie that could potentially deliver us a turn in the trend of non-stop remakes and PG-13 bullshit. All of the horror fans talk a big game about how they're sick of this and they're sick of that... but when push comes to shove they always go and support the latest Hollywood offering and never the films fighting against all odds to make a difference. (See what happened with the 'Hills Have Eyes 2' versus 'Behind The Mask' a few weeks ago. PATHETIC.) This is a group of people determined to spread the word about this old school original horror movie and to send a message to the industry that the horror fans don't only want remakes, sequels, and PG-13 horror movies. Hollywood will start giving you what you WANT because it's your MONEY they care about. You just have to show up and show them. Here's your chance. For all the whining you do on-line about what's being offered to us...are you going to keep paying for that stuff or are you going to go support the underdog and make a difference? This little film has been the most buzzed one out there with both critics and the crowds that have gotten to see it since it started it's festival tour last year and it has overcome all odds to actually get a nationwide theatrical release. Where are you gonna be on September 7th?

You can enlist on the fan-run HATCHET MYSPACE page where you'll find ways that you can start making a difference to ensure the film is playing at your favorite theater on the very weekend it opens. Don't just say you're gonna join us... spread the word and DO SOMETHING. The release is just three months away and we have time to rally the world.

Official HATCHET ARMY shirts were given away at this past weekend's WEEKEND OF HORRORS in Burbank- where several hundred horror fans enlisted and turned the convention into the WEEKEND OF HATCHET. Word is that more HATCHET ARMY T-shirts will be available on the film's official website in the coming weeks.
