Back in March Tartan Films bought U.S. rights to the provocatively titled The Slit-Mouthed Woman, a Japanese chiller about a hideously deformed woman who is accused of a gruesome killing spree. Bloody-Disgusting learned this weekend that Tartan Films has officially renamed Koji Shiraishi's film, which is based on a well-known folk legend, to Carved. Tartan says it plans to put out the movie directly to video in July in a release that is almost day-and-date with the Japanese DVD bow. Watch Tartan Asia Extreme's official MySpace for more updates as they come in.
That new title sucks. The original title would had received more attention. I can't wait to see this.
