After being acquired at the Cannes Film Festival two years ago, 20th Century Fox's Perfect Creature is getting dumped on DVD July 17, according to Fangoria. The DVD will feature a 2.35:1 transfer with Dolby Digital 5.1 audio, a making-of featurette, a second Designing the Perfect Creature featurette and trailers. Retail price is $29.98. The New Zealand vampire film imagines a world where vampires and humans peacefully co-exist, with the bloodsuckers the next step in human evolution. This delicate balance looks to be destroyed when an influenza epidemic begins to sweep the human population and one vampire turns to preying on humans. The church sends out Silus (Scott) to catch the renegade vampire, Edgar. Silus joins forces with a human police captain (Burrows), and discovers that Edgar harbors dark secrets.
This film is actually quite entertaining. It's a very unique concept, very unique style, and I'm suprised it didn't at least make some sort of limited theatrical release. It's definitely worth a view.
I'm sure this film came out in the UK under a different name a few years ago, i remember it on sky movies, or one thats ver much like it, same plot ect, it had a green effect to it in some parts.
Forget my last comment, just found out that the film i thought it was is called The Breed.
