Malcolm McDowell Talks 'Halloween' Trilogy

It's already been revealed that IF Rob Zombie's Halloween performs well the weekend of August 31, that Dimension plans on unrolling a new series of sequels in the franchise. So why everyone is getting worked up over the recent news is beyond me... but whatever, read on for details from Malcolm McDowell (Dr. Loomis) about his contractual obligation to do three Halloween films.

"I've signed for three," Malcolm McDowell tells Rotten Tomatoes. "How about that? They obviously think it's going to be a big hit."

Having never seen a "Halloween" movie before, McDowell is confident that his portrayal of Loomis will be unique, "I have to tell you that I've never seen Halloween 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 or 7. I must be one of the only people on the planet never to have seen any of the films and I'm so glad because I asked the director, Rob Zombie, whether he thought I should see them and he said, 'No, better no.'"

After being committed for 17 years, Michael Myers, now a grown man and still very dangerous, is mistakenly released from the mental institution (where he was committed as a 10 year old) and he immediately returns to Haddonfield, where he wants to find his baby sister, Laurie. Anyone who crosses his path is in mortal danger.

A nice trilogy is way better than retarded sequels.

I have a feeling this trilogy will be synonymous with "retarded sequels".

A trilogy would be great. Plus if he does make Halloween 3. It would be all him. we need a newer halloween to replace the old shitty halloween 3. Just think about it will ya. A trilogy is better than a 8. Look at Scream. It all came toghther in the end. What if there something Micheals been hiding and in 3 its shown. mabey thats why the made the older Halloween 3 about masks and not micheal!

notive he forgot about part 8. for someone who hasn't seen any Halloween's, he sure does have everyone elses' mind set. we all want to forget Resuerction. as for the new triology, I don't like it when they remake sequels because then its just like saying "fuck you, originals!" but, I'll go see them...

I grew up on the Halloween films and am a huge supporter of the films. 3 dissapointed me, but so be it. I also support Rob and his immaculate imagination and creativity that breeds his brilliance. I can't wait to see this film and you MUST do the sequels (in my opinion) no matter how this one does (box office wise). The true fans wll come. Thank you for doing this for us Rob and friends.
