The long-rumored sequel to The Lost Boys (1987) is now prepping in Vancouver, Canada, according to Moviehole.net. The website also reports that P.J Pesce, a filmmaker familiar with the vampire terrain having tackled Dimension’s From Dusk Till Dawn 3, is attached to helm. Joel Schumacher, of course, directed the classic original. Thye also reveal that Corey Feldman was a part of the sequel’s cast but “that’s not on the cards anymore.” From the sounds of it, it’s an all-new set of cast and characters. The sequel, titled The Lost Boys: The Tribe and expected to be released on DVD next year via Warner, will shoot thru June 11 to July 13.

I'm curious - for those of you WHO WERE NOT old enough to see the original when it came out - how does the original hold up?
I was part of that generation so I'm jaded - I love the original. You can't find that mixture of comedy and thrills anymore.
This sucks. It's not as if it would have cost them much to get the Coreys to reprise t heir roles as the Frog brothers, if they were so hellbent on burying the franchise into DVD hell. Yet somehow Warners has found a way to do a new Lost Boys that lacks any connection to the original, and instead of bringing back a uniquely styled film, they will make another cookie cutter, badly acted no name stupid teenager movie that bastardizes the name of a movie that means something to a lot of people. I can't wait to see w hat they are going to ruin next.

The Lost Boys is the only film that I have, inadvertently, memorized the entire script, as a result of watching it religiously since the age of two. Fuck Warner Brothers, this is ridiculous.
