One of the most anticipated DVD releases is the classic '87 horror-comedy Monster Squad, which was announced to be released via Lionsgate Home Entertainment a few months back. Today the specs were finally revealed, along with a July 24 release date, read on for the skinny. In the film Dracula is alive. In fact, he plans to rule the world and that is why he seeks the help of other legendary monsters...
Extras Subject to Change
Fred Dekker's film is finally coming to DVD on July 24th, according to Fangoria. They report that in addition to a 2.35:1 anamorphic widescreen transfer, expect the following extras:
- Audio commentary by writer/director Dekker and cinematographer Bradford May
- Audio commentary by Dekker and actors Andre Gower, Ashley Bank and Ryan Lambert
- Wolf Man’s Got Nards! The Making of THE MONSTER SQUAD documentary
- Deleted and extended scenes
- Monster Mania reunion featurette
- Vintage interview with Tom Noonan

When this movie first came out, I mailed a letter to the army trying to warn them of Dracula's impending takeover. They wrote me back saying that they knew what I was talking about and that they already had the amulet in their possession and everything was under control. lol. and yes, i was just a kid.
Sweet!!!!! This is the best news I've heard in a long time. Monster Squad is a fantastic movie, and I'm glad it's finally getting what looks to be a very nice release.
HELL YEAH!!! One of my favorite movies as a kid. I'll be holding my nards until then!
