If you aren't a regular visitor to our Review Section here on Bloody-Disgusting, here's a list of seven new reviews added over the past week. One of the highlights is Troma's Poultrygeist: Night of the Chicken Dead, which played at the Amsterdam Fantastic Film Festival last week. Read on to see everything else that was added and watch for tons more coming this week.
The Marsh: Review by Horrorholic, "We've seen this film before, done much better. THE MARSH is overly cliché and seems like it was thrown together over a weekend. The biggest mystery posed by the film is why Sony bought the rights to this clunker. Do yourself a favor and skip past this one at your local video store.."
Poultrygeist: Night of the Chicken Dead: Review by Joris Westerdaal, "Troma once again indulges itself in craptaculair movie making and all aforementioned “shortcomings” are fully represented as highlights in this latest effort by the long running studio. And since I have no sense of taste what-so-ever; I loved it!!."
Dark Corners: Review by Tex Massacre, "Gower’s production is not quite a serial killer film and not quite surrealist cinema. What it is, is trying desperately to straddle some pencil-thin line between David Lynch and Christophe Gans—sort of SILENT HILL’S LOST HIGHWAY—and it’s headed blindly out-of-control for dead mans curve.."
Dead and Deader: Review by Tex Massacre, "It’s all forgivable in the end, because the film is just so damn fun. And, even for a Sci-Fi channel flick (usually the kiss of death), DEAD AND DEADER is well worth an evening of your time.."
Phantasm: Review by Tex Massacre, "Indeed the final frames of PHANTASM are the stuff of cinematic legend. And Coscarelli is given little credit for the influence that the scene had on Sean Cunningham’s FRIDAY THE 13TH and Wes Craven’s A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET.."
Cinderella: Review by Tex Massacre, "This is not Walt Disney’s Cinderella. In fact, even The Brothers Grimm got nothing on director Man-dae Bong’s tale of beauty and revenge.."
Twin Peaks Season 2: Review by Ryan Daley, "Even if the series sputtered to a close, it’s one of the most daring and original television programs to ever reach a network audience. With Twin Peaks: The Second Season finally getting the DVD release it deserves, this series certainly warrants a look from curious viewers previously unaccustomed to Lynch’s method of television madness.."
