Some odd news came into B-D this weekend as we've received word that Sleepaway Camp writer/director Robert Hiltzik isn't finished with the franchise, even though Return to Sleepaway Camp has yet to be completed. 'Camper 101' informs us that Hiltzik is planning a Sleepaway Camp Reunion as the sixth entry in the franchise. The film follows the events of Return to Sleepaway Camp and focuses on the long-awaited return of Aunt Martha as well as Ricky and Angela Baker! More news as it comes in, but we suspect we won't hear much until Return to Sleepaway Camp finally gets released.
How can they be planning a 6th one already. The three classics are on dvd. The Return is Part 4 which was never released. If Sleepaway Camp Reunion is part 6, then what the hell happened to Part 5? Hell, when is part 4 ever coming to dvd?
Years ago, there was an unfinished 4th movie. The trailer for it was a bonus disc in the Sleepaway Camp box set. It looked very crappy(and that's saying something lol) and i'm glad they never finished it.
I guess they are including it in the film history, making Return To Sleepaway Camp the fifth movie in the series.
This is how I understand it.
THe director from the first movie who returned for movie 4 wants to make one more movie to finish off his sleepaway camp "triolgy"
While the director and writer from movies 2 and 3 has a script he wants to shoot to finish off his sleepaway camp "triolgy"
So basically 2,3 and 5 would be his version while 1,4 and 6 is the others. This with the director of the unfinished version who wants to go back and get that done.

Be really weird with two triolgies of the same film series within it self.
kind of odd that there including the 4th movie even though it was a failure. I know i wouldn't be strutting around being all happy that 1 of my movies was sooo bad that it was ditch mid way through. Yep talk about it like its hidden treasure.... damn that extra dvd in the box set was a waste of time.
