Edgar Wright's 'Don't' Trailer To Become Feature?

Don't you wonder why Dimension's Grindhouse flopped? Don't you wonder if next weekend it'll pick up? Also, don't you wonder why people are still talking about sequels? Since before the film even hit theaters talk of turning the faux trailers into feature length films has been circulating the web. We've heard that "Machete" would be a feature, possibly Rob Zombie's "Werewolf Women of the S.S." and even Eli Roth's "Thanksgiving" -- but now Edgar Wright's "Don't" is the one being talked about. Read on for the skinny.

Edgar Wright tells Rotten Tomatoes, "If it was [turned] into a feature, it'd have to be like Dario Argento and 'Suspiria,'" said Wright. "'Suspiria' is I think one of the few films that feels like a dream you've had when you've had too much cheese. It's just like the weirdest bad dream you've ever had. I love those films that have the nightmare logic and don't really have any plots or story. It's just like horrible bad dream after bad dream."

For those of you who didn't quite understand the joke, "Currently a collection of snippets with a narrator telling the characters not to do things, "Don't" is already a spoof of European horror trailers. "The thing about my trailer, unlike maybe the other ones, is that the whole point of it is that there's no plot. Sometimes you see some of those trailers for European films and you're thinking, 'I have no idea what the f*ck that is about.' My idea to make it look like it was a 90 minute film condensed is to have a different actor in every single shot so it seems like its a new cast every [scene]. Nobody ever reoccurs. So in like 90 seconds there's like 30 actors in it which is crazy."

I thought the trailer was hilarious, but I don't know if I would like it as a movie. I would see it though. I want Thanksgiving!

Don't, I think, the funniest of all the trailers. It also had a surprisingly unique tone to it. The scene with the old lady with the knife comes to mind. I don't know how it would work full length, but I'll give Edgar Wright the benefit of the doubt, he hasn't let us down yet.

That really sucks that Grindhouse debuted in fourth place. I though it was really gonna do good and all. Shit. Will Ferrel, Ice Cube and Pixar movies are too overated for their own good. Goddamn moviegoers. What, Grindhouse not mainstream enough for these pussies? I would like to see any on those faux trailers become real movies except for Eli Roth's. He owes me 10 bucks for Cabin Fever. That movie sucked.

Rob Zombies shouldn't be put into production not only because its Nazis and that doesn't sit well with the jewish community, but because overall the trailer was stupid. If anything, the next Grindhouse movies should be Machette and Don't or Thanksgiving.

Jeez, man. Who gives? There have been far more racially extreme films made than anything Rob Zombie could make out of Werewolf Women. It's entertainment! Nothing but good ol, ridiculous fun! Mind you, I loved the trailer, too, and I was very much looking forward to seeing it. Of the four, Don't is probably the only one that I wouldn not care to see made in to a feature length film. Werewolf Women of the SS and Thanksgiving would be awesome, though. And Machete!

Hey, Guys I just realized how much grindhouse did sucked and i did enjoy some of the fake trailer as for a sequel they need to do either Thanksgiving or Don't and find another director for the next flix.

As a purist I don't think they should re-invent the REAL thing. Digital just doesn't cut it. And Tarantino's, dialogue between the girls (more boring than any original Grindhouse film, the worst, unauthentic compared to original Grindhouse) ONLY THE CAR SCENE WAS GREAT. And he plagiarized that. For me, Rodriguez' film was a good HORROR FILM but NOT GRINDHOUSE. These movies and trailers are NEW HORROR films... Get it?

I thought that Tarantino's dialogue with the first and second groups of girls was very entertaining. I don't get people who say they have a problem w/ Tarantino's dialogue, or that Tarantino's dialogue is boring. In my opinion, the dialogue in Tarantino's movies always drives the movie.
