New Review: 'Grindhouse' Leaves Me With Stained Pants

The other day I added my official review for Dimension Films' Grindhouse, which is now in theaters everhwere. Here's what I had to say, "Two for the price of one, how can you lose? Seriously? GRINDHOUSE is one of the most epic movie experiences of my life and I can’t wait to see it again... After sitting through three hours of car crashes, car chases, explosions, blood, guts, gore, slime, knife fights, sex scenes, fake trailers and more action than you’ve seen all year, I can pretty much say that it lived up to the hype." Click the title above for the review, pics, trailers and more - and don't forget to check out BDTV for TONS of interviews!

it was amazing...a must see all the way...death proof started slow...but it was a killer slow build and i loved the psycho-like technique...i am going to be seeing this one many times

Well I saw it first show, yesterday morning and I was floored. I definitely enjoyed Death Proof far more than I did Planet TError. I do think that three hours and fifteen minutes was almost too much. I think I would have gone and seen both of them separately as well. I just fear that the general movie auidence may not have the patience for a true double feature. In fact I think they may not even go, deciding to wait for the dvd release. I would have liked to see a more fleshed out Death Proof, maybe the scenes they cut would help.

Absolutely incredible movie! Totally badass, and one of the few movies in my lifetime that truly lived up to the promise of its ad campaign. Sadly, my fellow American moviegoers have chosen to throw their money away on the latest Will Ferrell garbage and the sequel(?) to ARE WE THERE YET?, leaving this amazing film twisting in the wind at the box-office. So while Ferrell can keep remaking ANCHORMAN in a different setting ad nauseum and former NWA gangsta Ice Cube's "family" film gets a sequel, GRINDHOUSE will be viewed as a failed experiment unlikely to spawn any follow-ups. It's times like these that make me question the intellect of the average moviegoer. From sea to shining sea you hear people complain about how they are sick of being fed the same old crap by Hollywood, yet they ignore truly imaginative works like GRINDHOUSE and continue to devour formulaic, idiotic dreck that is virtually indistinguishable from a thousand other films released in the last decade. At least we can take comfort in knowing that old school exploitation films will remain cool because mainstream audiences and the studio accountants that feed off of them still don't get it and never will.

I agree, I have to say I really thought Grindhouse was going to be number one, but I guess once again i was wrong for having faith in the masses. Planet Terror and Death Proof were so awsome, and I too agree after watching Death Proof Im not sure which one I like more. I mean sure I loved the zombies but after seeing that amazing crash...I was floored and in aww. Death Proof was fantastic, as well as Planet Terror. I also am not sure if the average movie goer will be able to sit for that long for this type of flick. Grind house owned and thats it.
