One of my all-time favorite Asian horror films is the Thai ghost story Shutter, which is now available on DVD from Tartan Home Video. If Roy Lee can produce what he did with The Ring, I think 20th Century Fox's Shutter remake can be just as cool. Today they've announced the start of production as well as the full cast. Read on for the skinny.
(TOKYO): Production is underway in Tokyo on Regency Enterprises' SHUTTER, a psychological thriller starring Joshua Jackson ("Bobby"), Rachael Taylor ("Transformers"), David Denman ("The Office"), James Kyson Lee ("Heroes") and John Hensley ("Nip/Tuck").
Masayuki Ochiai directs from a screenplay by Luke Dawson, based on a 2004 Thai film. The story centers on a newly married couple who discover disturbing, ghostly images in photographs they develop after a tragic accident. Fearing the manifestations may be connected, they investigate and learn that some mysteries are better left unsolved.
The producers are Roy Lee ("The Ring," "The Departed"), Doug Davison ("The Grudge," "The Departed") and Takashige Ichise ("The Grudge" [American and Japanese versions], "Dark Water" [American and Japanese versions] ).
that is truly cool news and i hope to ave more news about shutter .
