Only one week away from Dimension Films' $50 million risk, Grindhouse, which gives fans a movie from Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez back-to-back (all for a single price). It was already revealed that Rodriguez has about 30-minutes of footage for a feature called Machete (that would star Danny Trejo), today Variety scooped Tarantino's plans, "Rodriguez and Tarantino want to keep the "Grindhouse" series going. For his part, Tarantino wants to shoot an old-school Kung Fu movie in Mandarin with subtitles in some countries, and release a shorter, dubbed cut in others." If Grindhouse pulls in some 300 numbers next week, I willing to bet we see it happen. For all your "grind house" goods, click the title above.
Grindhouse doesn't have to be just a horror movie. It just so happens that this film is based on the horror films of the 60's and 70's. Grindhouse could be anything from Kung Fu to Action to Horror to Sex... it doesn't matter as long as its an exploitation film.
Maybe they should make a sequel, but I like the idea of switching around some things, Maybe get some other people involved, Like George A Romero, And Stephen King, like back in the days of Creepshow. I like the idea of a few more writers involved. Like Zack Snyder, hed be good for a grindhouse movie, imagine george romero writing and Zack Snyder directing? Maybe Rob zombie could help with an actual feature as opposed to a fauz trailer. Or if you want someone serious with one of the greatest reputations for making demented movies, get Ruggero Deodato, we all remember Cannibal Holocaust. Or Eli Roth, or Sam Raimi?Anyways, thas just some recommendations, Im sure you guys could think of more writers/directors to be involved in a Grindhouse sequel.
i would love to see a second grindhouse, i died when i saw grindhouse on friday, if they do make a second one, i think they should make them from 2 of the faux trailers, they should def have Eli do "Thanksgiving" and for the 2nd, either "Dont", "Machete" or "Wearwolf women of the ss" that would be f'n awesome!
