Dimension's 'Grindhouse' Scores a Solid R-Rating
Thursday, March 22, 2007

The Grindhouse is officially open for business as the dreaded MPAA just gave Dimension's upcoming film an R rating for "strong graphic bloody violence and gore, pervasive language, some sexuality, nudity and drug use." We're going to look into just how much was cut from the film, but this is great news considering it sounded like an NC-17 was inevitable. I guess the fact that Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez could cut entire scenes from their movies (like in a real Grind House) could be the reason? More details when (or if) they come in. Click the title for pics, posters and more.

Why can't the power of T&R release a NC-17 version in indy theaters. I watched Old Boy in an indy theater and I would gladly make a trip across town for an un-cut un-rated version of Grind House. -Nx Canada

oh if only indy theatres stop showing movies about people learning how to feel feelings, we'd be able to see someone shoot heroin into thier tits and then shoot someone

Per Harry at AICN: "I just got off the phone with Rodriguez - who is celebrating getting his R-rating for the double feature without having to sacrifice much of anything. He only lost part of a brain-eating scene and Quentin only lost part of one of the crash scenes. So the big story in THE NY POST about the film facing massive problems - was bullshit. So there ya go..." I guess that settles it...

FUCK 'GRINDHOUSE!' Wonderful Idea! SHITTY execution. WTF? an 'R-Rating'???????????????? that COMPLETELY defeats the ideology of the GRINDHOUSE film! FUCK ThE MPAA. FUCK DIMENSION. FUCK the box-office if they are gonna see one red cent from me to see this on the screen! With all of the hype and brilliance, this concept could have been something....a 'FUCK YOU' to the MPAA what nowadays w/ the internet and soo many means of media hype. Dimension Film could have released this UNCUT or NC-17!!! -And ppl would have still gone to see it. ESPECIALLY in protest to the MPAA after the Docu/expose 'This FILM Has Not been Rated'!!! (in RE: to this film the MPAA said they were going to 'embrace' the NC-17 rating and possibly re-acess the 'R' rating.) Godamn I'm pissed! I even turned down FREE PASSES to an advance screening! I encourage you: -Flame this film. -DO NOT PAY TO SEE IT. DOWNLOAD IT! I WILL POST LINKS TO DOWNLOAD IT AS THEY COME AVAILABLE!! This SHOULD HAVE BEEN the time to stand up and STRIKE!~ But godamn if these pussy-ass muthafuckers sat down to wait for the cash to roll in. FUCK'em!

Hey I hate to be one of those thisisgoingtobethebestmovieEVERfaggots, but I seriously think it just may be. Oh, mr. bruzed, listen to mr. maul, he knows what he's talking about, unlike you. I think this movie would still kick ass if it was rated G

I never said it wasn't gonna be a great film(great now i sound like you and your 'thisisgoingtobethebestmovieEVERfaggots' denial...) But seriously. Grindhouse movies were released 'X' or 'UNRATED' for a reason. They took no prisoners & were released to independant theatres. The idea ANYTHING should be edited and still pay proper homage to the GRINDHOUSE FILMS of days of old is insulting...especially just to make a buck and to have major chains play it. Maybe I am overboard on my opinion after re-reading it. I DO want to see it. But I will wait for the dvd since the idealogy has been beaten down in my opinion of properly releasing a "grindhouse". I hope some of you that actually read this do understand where I am comming from with being fed-up w/ the MPAA and see that witha any edits to this movie detracts from the idealogy and allows the facist-censorship to continue to rule. -Any TRUE GOREHOUND/Horror-fan will understand.

Now you're taking some sense. I see what youre saying. I don't mind when people have a reasonable argument. It just really pisses me off when people are like "FUCK THIS MOVIE IT FUCKING GAY IT SUCKS." But really, dude, dont download this, it will totally ruin the experience of going to see exploitation movies the way they were meant to be seen.

*sigh* You missed my arguement on this completely. How is it exploitation? It's CENSORED! Yes a mere few frames, but GRINDHOUSE was about concept and paying respect. A multi-plex doesn't say grindhouse movie to me. It would have said more to me to have the balls to release it UNCUT/X. The experience has already been ruined. I can only hope they will go balls to the wall with a ULTIMATE dvd release and not pussy out and give us some dbl. dipped release>!>!??!
