Love reading the same thing twice? Then you're in luck as MTV is the latest to catch one of Robert Englund's rants about his return as Freddy Krueger. It has been no secret that New Line Cinema is trying to get a prequel to A Nightmare On Elm Street off the ground, but we all like to hear Mr. Englund talk about it. If you click the link you can hear the news again, and also hear what he has to say about some other horror films he is in this year including Hatchet (in theaters September) and Behind the Mask, which is in theaters now.
I really think alot of old horror movies coming out with prequels is getting pretty old. But a prequel were it shows Freddy's past is a damn good idea. i mean think about it. Freddy has been a killer his whole life so this time well see him without the glove killing people (mostly little kids but i didn't want to sound sadistic saying thats cool) I dont know how they will do it though. they could pretty well just f**k the whole thing up and tell some bullshit story like in Freddy Vs. Jason with Jason supposdly being scared of water.
All in all i think a prequel fo A Nightmare on Elm Street is a good idea. But what would they call it. Cause back in the day he didn't kill people in there dreams. Maybe will get to see him make the glove again:)
I also think a prequel to 'Nightmare on Elm St.' is a good idea. it's a chance for Robert England to play Freddy in a less campy way, hopefully they'll get away from the jokey-horror it became in the sequels. I'd like to see it grittier than the 1st one, perhaps they'll call it something like 'The Elm St. murders' or 'A Massacre on Elm St.'
They coud call it A Nightmare on Elm Street 8: Rise of the Springwood Slasher!
