This morning we've posted our Horror in Your House for Tuesday, March 20, which carries a few items that might interest you. First there's Anchor Bay's latest Re-Animator release; ThinkFilm's Going the Pieces – The Rise and Fall of the Slasher Film documentary; and then Lionsgate's long-delayed Return of the Living Dead: Rave to the Grave. Read on for the full list.

Horror in your House – March 20, 2007
By: Tex Massacre

First Born: First Look

Laura's expecting. Her husband, Steven's a loving guy but has little time for her. Her mom lives thousands of miles away. Forced to give up on her dreams, she's always been a bit edgy. A C-section drives her over the edge, making her see things in a different light. A creepy babysitter doesn't make things any better. She begins seeing things, trusts no one, as she goes into self-destruct mode.

After HIDE AND SEEK, I’d of thought Elizabeth Shue would have sworn off horror films. Oh well, she’s back with another creepy kid movie. It’s good to see that Dakota Fanning has moved on though.

Going the Pieces – The Rise and Fall of the Slasher Film: ThinkFilm

Join horror icons John Carpenter, Wes Craven, Rob Zombie, special effects makeup artist Tom Savini and many more in a virtual scream fest celebrating the most terrifying—and disgusting—movies ever made. Selections include gore-soaked scenes from cult favorites and cinema classics such as Halloween, Psycho, Friday the 13th, Prom Night, A Nightmare on Elm Street, Scream and When a Stranger Calls.

This documentary based on the book by Adam Rockoff makes it way to DVD after a Halloween run on Starz.

The Hunt: Image

If you don't know you're the prey, how can you survive ...THE HUNT On a chilly fall morning, Jack Hamberg, his eight-year-old stepson and cameraman Atticus Monroe head into the woods to make an instructional hunting video when their outing takes a disturbing turn. While trespassing on restricted land, they stumble upon the relics of a bizarre religious monument and soon realize they're being stalked by someone or something not of this earth!

Killing Machine: Image

After being murdered by her teacher and three brothers, a pretty high school student moonlighting as a prostitute is brought back from the dead thanks to the miracle of technology.

Masters of Horror – Pro-Life: Anchor Bay

When a scared 15-year-old girl goes to an isolated clinic to end her pregnancy, her anti-abortion activist father and brothers arrive, heavily armed and determined to force their way in and stop the procedure. But there'll be hell to pay when the baby's unearthly father gets involved.

Ron Pearlman as your father. That’s a horror film all in it’s own.

The Milpitas Monster: Televista

A horror movie about a monster that has been created from a garbage dump in Milpitas, a town near San Francisco.

According to the census statistic available on the city of Milpitas’ website the current population of this bay area hamlet is 64,998. I’ll bet none of them have ever heard of this movie either.

Mummy Theme Park: Televista

An earthquake has revealed an underground City of the Dead in Egypt. It is a holy place and is cursed but this doesn't stop Sheik El Sahid from building an underground Mummy Theme Park there!

I don’t know about you, but the title of this film is so stupid it’s almost freaking brilliant.

Murder Mansion: Televista

Supernatural mystery reveals the dark secrets burning inside the haunted MURDER MANSION. When the lovers get lost they seek shelter inside the mansion, but the owner, a beautiful woman, plots to scare them away by awakening the legends of the past. Vampires and witches plague the lovers and the game turns into a bloody massacre.

Re-Animator (2-disc special edition): Anchor Bay

A medical student and his girlfriend become involved in a bizarre experiment into reanimating the dead conducted by the student's incorrigible housemate in this campy send-up of an H.P. Lovecraft story. The emphasis is on humor but once the dead walk, there is gore aplenty.

Trade in your Millennium Editions fanboys, this one’s got all that and a new 70-minute documentary, plus a nifty florescent green highlighter-syringe-pen to boot!!!

Return of the Living Dead: Rave to the Grave: Lionsgate

A college student finds a canister in his uncle's attic that contains a drug more potent than Ecstasy. When word of the drug, nicknamed "Z" for its Zombie-like hallucinogenic effects, reaches unscrupulous college drug dealer Skeet, he hatches a plan to sell the drug to ravers attending the ultimate rave party.

A catchy title is about all this film has going for it. Directly Ellory Elkayem (EIGHT LEGGED FREAKS) reunites his ROTLD: Necropolis cast for another battle against the braaaaaiinnnn eaters.

Tokko Vol. 1: Manga/Anchor Bay

Recently graduated from the police academy, Shindo Ranmaru is assigned to the Special Mobile Investigation Force. He meets Rokujo Sakura, who works for a secret internal unit called Tokko. When Shindo's parents are killed -- along with entire families in his hometown -- he joins Tokko to avenge their deaths.

Tormented Triple Feature (INSANITY, CRAZED, ESTATE OF INSANITY): Televista

In INSANITY, a disillusioned and depressed film director is forced to confront his lack of humanity through his involvement in the death of a young actress and the suicide of her husband. A lonely man who is dominated by his mother becomes CRAZED by a beautiful young tenant. When the object of his desire accidentally drowns in her bathtub, he hides her body in his room, resorting to murderous measures. A lord returns to his ESTATE OF INSANITY with his new wife, to hear rumors that he had already secretly returned and had committed several murders.

What a Carve Up!: Televista

Sidney James and Kenneth Connor star in this Classic British 'haunted house' comedy. The foolishness begins when the family members of the supposedly dead madman, Uncle Gabriel, are summoned to the reading of his will. Ernie Broughton and Syd Butler gather with the rest of this motley bunch in a lonely mansion. With all the classic trappings of a comedy whodunit, Ernie and Syd keep the laughs coming as mysterious bumps in the night unfold into a bizarre but sinister series of murders.

A great production from 1961 finally arrives on store shelves. Keep an eye our for Donald Pleasance. A must film for fans of the 1980’s jokefest HAUNTED HONEYMOON.
