Rob Zombie's 'Halloween' Trailer When?! More Details!

Writer/Director Rob Zombie has been quite busy today on his MySpace page promoting his upcoming reenvisioning of Halloween, which hits theaters August 31. Besides the six new pictures we showed you earlier, he just announced that the first trailer will attached to all prints of Gridnhouse on April 6! In addition, he posted an article from the USA Today, which can be found inside.

'Halloween' returning in Zombie-vision format
Michael Myers isn't just a murderer, he's misunderstood.

So says Rob Zombie, who is bringing Michael back to the movies in Halloween, opening in August.

"It starts off when he's a kid," says Zombie, director of The Devil's Rejects and House of 1,000 Corpses. "Act 2 is him in an asylum."

Zombie's films are notorious for their twisted gore, but that's not what drives people to movies, he says. "They have to care about the characters. Michael Myers in the past is usually a stunt man wearing that mask. He's a fully formed character in this."

And that famous mask — in the original, it was a Capt. Kirk Star Trek mask painted white — gets a back story, Zombie says.

Gore may not be what sells a movie, but this Halloween will have Zombie's bloody fingerprints on it. "It's a very hard R — as extreme as it can be. The violence is brutal and it's real."

Jamie Lee Curtis played a babysitter stalked by Myers in the 1978 original. In this version, Scout Taylor-Compton plays the role. Zombie's wife, Sheri Moon, plays Michael's mom.

"Michael Myers is a character that for the last 28 years has degenerated into a popular Halloween character," Zombie says. "People will be shocked he's back to being a hard-core terrifying character."

honestly, this is my most anticipated film this year. come august 31st i'll either be pleasantly suprised or have suffered a huge letdown of what could have been. hopefully this trailer isnt just a still of Myers and a flash of "Halloween...August 31st"

So,"Myers isn't just a murderer,he's misunderstood."So what's he do,trip and ACCIDENTALLY stab people to death? What's his line of dialogue,a Lenny from OF MICE AND MEN-like "Duh,sorry..."?Misunderstood my ass.Murder is murder and zombie's an idiot.

I wouldn't put much stock into everything being said about gore and all that. I have spoke with somebody who works on the movie and he claims a lot of the stuff being said is false. And he claims it's not that bloody either. It's got gore, but not what is being said.

This is what I've been waiting for, if it is a true trailer. Plus, all I have to do is go see Grindhouse...sounds like a win/win proposition!

Wait til the movie comes out. I will see this flick like many others. Whats the use of bashing a flick that isnt even finished nor u have seen? justify your bashing when you seen the film and if really didnt like it. Not coz you have nothing to do with your life but find a reason to voice ur pointless dislike of things in life without fully grasping it.

Alright!More idiots!BRANDON:Where to start with you?First of all someone with your 3rd grade(and that's being kind)level of spelling skills really has no place to calling someone else a DUMBASS,DUMBASS("till","fount","th et""pysched","fonatic""psycho path"(it's one word,DUMBASS),"fighten""relese","m ite",all misspelled, who the hell, besides a zombie fan, could misspell"that"?).Secondly, your point regarding my previous(murder is murder)post.I know it's fiction,DUMBASS,but aren't we to assume that murder is also wrong in the fictional HALLOWEEN world,as well?Third, let me say TARZAN can construct more coherent sentences than you.And fourth,WHERE IN THE HELL DO YOU GET OFF INSULTING DAVE?All he was doing was relaying news he'd heard!Did you take it as some kind of personal insult that there might not be a lot of gore? For all you know he could be on your side of the argument about this "film",but you never bothered to find out,you just had to start swinging like an angry retard, hitting at everything and everyone that either didn't obviously agree with you or confused you with words you didn't understand. And thanks for the incredible autobiography of your life as a HALLOWEEN fan since age 7 or 8.What are you now?Nine?I hope so because if your post came from anyone older it A)makes you look REALLY stupid and B)doesn't bode well for the school that allowed you to pass to your current grade level.Morons like you are scarier than anything Hollywood could EVER dream up.Y'all come back! You're friggin' hilarious.

Can't wait for the trailer to hit online. I hope it doesn't get an R rating in Canada because I really wanted to see this in theatres.

Chaos.....Hatred.....Uninhibited bashing.....YYYYYEEEEESSSSS!!!!! My invective is spreading throughout these realms faster than ROB can a#s-rape a classic. Yet another "form your opinion after it's been released" bunch of tripe. It's your opinion, your entitled to it, and you can spend tomorrow's study hall refining it. This feels like Round 37. Should we have waited for the final product with part 5? How about part 6?? 7??? 8????? We waited for those to come out to form an opinion and look how wonderful those were.....So what's the difference with this one? Is it because the almighty ROB is helming this that we should all just bow down and mindlessly acquiesce to the tune of "thank you sir, may I have another....." PUH-FU*KING LEEZE As I've said millions of times at this point, what qualifications does ROB possess as a filmaker (none) that we should just hand him the keys to the kingdom and blindly write a blank check for his limited creative vision. What is the difference between ROB and any of the other directors who've pissed all over this franchise. Is ROB special? Do his previous efforts demonstrate ANY tangible critical or commercial success (none)? Malek Akkad's sad attempt to give Myers teenage street-cred by hiring a half-wit hack and his legions of fifteen yearold mindless myspace sychophants really make me want to change my mind and see the light.....

Canadian talking, they wont release as an R up here, it will get a 18A, they want box office success, they wont take a risk!

Peter
9:34pm, March 18, 2007

I can not wait to see this. It should be a great experience. For those of you complaining about a remake, it is better than another dumbass sequel. I would rather have an reinvention of the franchise than another uncreative sequel.

Jeff
11:31pm, March 18, 2007

Brad, I thought about that too, I really hope they release it 18A. Isn't it if it's realead (e.g.,) R in the States, then it'll be one rating lower in Canada? Anyways, I hope so. Thanks again

People who keep coming out with that tired old "wait till the movie's out" line don't seem to grasp what this User Comments box is for. It's for people to post their uninformed opinion - whether it be positive or negative - about the *news* they've heard so far. Its entire purpose is for people to offer up a "this sounds great" or "this sounds sucky" without having seen the film. If you can't handle that concept, maybe the User Comments box isn't for you. You should "wait till the movie's out" and post your informed opinions in the BD Forum.

Hey, Peter, a creative new take on an old classic is a glorified mess from the start. Instead of reinventing the original, why not go the extra mile to compose a masterful sequel? We've already seen these characters. True, they'll be shown in a new 21st century light, but even so, they're a part of a legacy created in 78'. If you are a fan of the Nightmare films, you wouldn't want a new actor playing a different Freddy Krueger, would you? There's been talk about a prequel with Englund starring as a different kind of Freddy, but still the same old Robert we all know and love. And no, it doesn't matter who's playing Michael really (as long as they can walk like Castle lol) but The Shape is still a character, regardless of lack of emotions. It's always nice to try to bring something new to an old character, but never, ever, reshape it...that defeats the purpose of why we wanna go see him in the first place. It churns my stomach. So no, it's not just about remaking the original classic, it's about remaking the key characters; Michael and Dr. Loomis respectfully.

Being a huge fan of John Carpenter, and the Halloween theme I wouldn't want anyone else other then Zombie making his own out of it! We can all only hope that Zombie puts the suspense and gore into this one! I loved the mood and the way the public reacted to House of 1000 corpses and i would like to see this film reflect the style of that.
