No, that's not 'nuff said.' Hostel has no storyline? Give me a break. Each Saw film, except the first (which had a great sense of mystery), is simply a series of violent events with some EXTREMELY good ideas and sub par executions. How can anyone stand the style of the Saw movies? How can anyone feel anything for the characters when the editing is so distractingly flashy? It makes me feel like I'm having a goddamn seizure. I will admit the Saw films are efective. But that's only because they are fucked up situations that get you thinking about what you would do. But it's not protrayed well done in any of the Saw movies. Hostel is stylized, but in a much more artistic and cinematically sound way. The photography (in most scenes) is top-notch, and the editing, along with the music, are slick in an old fashioned but original way. The story builds, and the characters aren't sugar-coded. They aren't the nicest of guys, they talk like a lot of fucking people talk. All of the actors gave very solid and true performances, as I will admit a few of the Saw actors did. Hostel had its flaws, especially towards the end, but it's an all-around better film than all of the Saw films put together. Now that's nuff said.
