Shoreline Entertainment has launched development of Spanky, acquiring film rights to Brit author Christopher Fowler's tale of demonic possession, according to Variety. Shoreline CEO Morris Ruskin will produce and Dan Turner, who directed "Experiment," will helm "Spanky." Ray Gower, who wrote and directed "Dark Corners" for Shoreline, is penning the script. "Spanky" tells the story of a 23-year-old man who meets his own personal demon. He makes a deal that results in a better job and life, but it's uncertain what price he'll pay since he's unsure whether the demon is real. Several other Fowler stories, including "Roofworld" and "Psychoville," have been in development at studios. Gower's also preparing to direct "Necrogenesis" for Shoreline. Project's based on his original screenplay and slated to begin production in May.
borntokill: Unless you wrote it prior to 1994 (when 'Spanky' was first published) or earlier than 1587 (when the legend of Faust was first published) I don't think you need to contact your lawyers anytime soon :). Wow, a movie of 'Spanky', this is good news. More Christopher Fowler is good Christopher Fowler.
