Rob Zombie's 'Halloween' Scores! Really It Will...

Clarification time as MTV has made a minor snafu in their report from the set of Rob Zombie's Halloween, which was posted here the other day. Zombie had made a comment about how he was trying to rework the score (listen here) and then shelved it, MTV reported it as Zombie had shelved Carpenter's original theme. The fact of the matter is Zombie was saying he wasn't going to use the reworked theme that he had been devloping. It's amazing how such a small misinterpretation can cause so many problems. Michael Myers is coming, and his theme will be rocking right behind him. Now when the hell do I get my own theme song?!

I bet he just changed his mind because of the backfire.

Great news, I was really worried there for a few days. As I stated, a Halloween movie isn't a Halloween movie without the theme music.

The Boogeyman IS Coming... Thanks for the scoop BD

BS Flag.... To think Zombie is not monitoring the fan response is ludacris. There was an outcry - now he is backstepping. Otherwise - he would have corrected it immediately.

Great news. The theme is classic. Who cares why. I guess it just makes an argument to say he did because of backlash. MAYBE it really was an error on MTV's part and he intended all along to use the theme. Either way, he will get bashed now BECAUSE he's using it.

Mr. D, don't get me wrong, your coverage of this film is appreciated... But dude, i think your in love with this movie whether or not it's going to be worthy of it's predecessor. We have every right to be critical of this movie... Without John Carpentor's film I wouldn't be where I am today and that goes for alot of us. I just hope that when you give us your review come August your honest and give us your real opinion. - Not that you wouldn't... though I do hold you responsible for causing me to buy "Kwoon"... jesus man, you gave it 5 skulls!!

HAHAHA... FUCK MTV, next time I think Mr.D should conduct the interviews cause MTV just fucks everything up. Anyway glad the old theme is back!

Not surprised at all.Every time zombie opens his stupid mouth he either denies it or says it was "misinterpreted/misunderstood" later.Sure didn't take Dimension long to send him a memo to put the theme in,did it.Welcome to the big leagues mr.cummings.Your 2 commercial failure/cult hit don't mean shit to them except for your name value, which after this, won't mean shit to anyone else but your brown-nosed fans, either.

some of you idiots who do nothing but criticize deserve to get laid out. Too bad Rob Zombie can't go door to door and pull a Jay and Silent Bob on you guys.

When do you get that I am in love with the movie? All I did was tell you the facts. I never said THIS IS GOING TO BE THE BEST MOVIE EVER! What the f-ck is with some of you people not listening words that come out of people's mouths? Seriously. READ WHAT I AM WRITING and then see the movie on your own agenda. If you like it, great! If you dont, great! My jobs to inform not constantly pitch a movie as awesome if I havent even seen it yet. Sheesh.

Mr Disgusting
5:18pm, March 9, 2007

PS: Zombie never said he was removing the theme, so why are you all attacking him saying he's back stepping? MTV misreported the piece, yell at them, not Rob. F'n A!

Kwoon still sucked

Jonny

Mr. D , you are absolutley right. I don't know how you continue to let some people on this message board. You have a high tolerance. It's ok to be critical and dislike this remake, but quit with the false accusations and the "I told you so" B.S. Support your claims with actual facts. Some people here think they know everything about this movie. No, you don't. You know why? Because it's NOT OUT YET. The other problem is, I think most of us who want to see this movie will fess up and say it suck's it it indeed does. I doubt alot of the haters would actaully admit it's good. The mind's all made up no matter what, that's pretty sad.

I'm willing to bet if I saw Kwoon now it wouldnt even get an 8. My tastes have changed quite a bit. I still love it, but can see how people would hate it. I wish I knew what movies you like Mr. Bob so I could find one and say "are you freaking crazy?" Then you'd say "it rules!" and I'd say "No, it doesn't." But it really wouldnt matter would it, because in the end your opinion is the only one that counts. Congrats on your success in being right all the time. Wish I could be you.

jonny, lighten up.

Sauron
7:25pm, March 9, 2007

Johnny is the peace still there my friend????? I want to make sure we are still fighting the good fight. Not once did Sauron refer to the theme in his latest salient attacks on all things ROB (referring to one's self in the third person is NEVER a good sign.....) But seriously, Mr. D has been quite tolerant of ALL of us. If he had gone about banning anything construed as negative these boards would be nowhere near as entertaining. For that, I thank him.....This latest round does raise a lot of OTHER red flags. The theme, for what it is, was a small point. With the exception of Halloween 4, it has pretty much gone by the wayside in the later sequels (the flute orchestration in the intro to H20 was God awful). Alan Howarth was known to darken up elements of the original sountrack that digressed from Carpenter's music but still maintained a pretty good horror atmosphere. Some of us 'haters' are definately upset that this whole thing is going forward in this manner, but I have, in all fairness, been fair about certain news developments that looked good. Still, you know my opinion on this and ROB's creative vision. Definately worried about the whole empty pool thing.....

Jonny

SAURON. Were all good.If you read my posts over the last few topics, I"ve gone out of my way to compliment your opinions. As I've said, we don't always see eye to eye, but I respect your opinions and even share some of your concerns. I can tell you know your horror flicks, as do I. There are some though that really put the ol foot in the mouth. And I do mean some of the RZ fan's as well. Back to the topic, I am glad to have the theme in this movie. Other than JAWS, and maybe The Exorcist, it's the most identifiable music in Horror. I hope I lightened up a bit BOB.

Jonny Ramone

Good hints Jonny... boy - could you kiss Mr. D's butt anymore? What are you 12? Rob saw the light with the music. That's the long and short of it. He's nervous - too much pressure to deliver what he knows he can't. I know that for a fact.

Jonny
12:28am, March 10, 2007

RAMONE. It's dip shit's like you that Mr. D should ban from the site. Your unintelligent, unoriginal, and bring NOTHING to discuss, other than your "RZ's nervous, I just know it crap", like you got inside access. Wow, your so smart and clever, and educating so many of us with your lame ass insight. If I'm 12, your 4(and that's a kind estimate).

welll, i gess SOME people can rest easy now knowing the theme will still be intact. Nice one.

9:19am, March 10, 2007

I don't really care how the theme came to be in this movie, as long as it is in. Wouldn't it funny if Zombie is reading the message boards in the little off time he has and then changing things accordingly. I doubt it (does not seem logical), but it would be laughable if that were the case. Just in case...WHAT'S UP WITH THE EMPTY POOL, ROB?

W.D.
9:28am, March 10, 2007

Read this interview by Tyler Bates and then tell me how Zombie never intended on using the score and is just 'catering' to the fans, after you've read it. And notice the date. You'll have to scroll down near the end of the interview: http://www.aintitcool.com/node/31663

Just because I don't share your viewpoint does not mean I should be banned from a site. It's fanboy cretins like you - with your 'super cool secret club' attitude towards outsiders that not only stifles opposing views - you think you have the cred to get other people banned. All I do is keep blind fanboys in check - let them know that just because this guys sings super scary monster songs - does not mean he's impervious to poor decision making. He's creating a legacy of it.
