Convention manager superbeast Convention All-Stars dropped us a line today to inform us of yet another DVD release of Return of the Living Dead. MGM brought in Linnea Quigley, Don Calfa, William Stout, James Karen, Brian Peck, Allan Troutman and Tom Matthews to record a brand new commentary track in Los Angeles on February 26. Read on for a pic from the recording! Dan O'Bannon's 1985 film hit DVD five years ago and the new DVD release is said to include no other new extras except the recorded track. We're still waiting for the workprint edition guys! When a bumbling pair of employees at a medical supply warehouse accidentally release a deadly gas into the air, the vapors cause the dead to re-animate as they go on a rampage through Louisville, Kentucky seeking their favorite food, brains.

I posted about this on the ZN, just another way to grab cash from zombei film fans. If I recall Dan O'Bannon doesn't care for this re-release. Why is it the zombie genre is treated so crappily... :(

Thanks guys, I was there too and I gave you the picture. The film hasn't been re-cut, it's just a re-release with new commentary. Dan didn't approve of this new release because they wouldn't pay him to do the new commentary. Yours truly, Beverly Randolph "Tina" RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD
