Update Inside: Here's some really quick rumor control for you guys. I woke up this morning to read all over the place that Darren Lynn Bousman was in talks to helm a remake of Children of the Corn for Dimension Films. The truth? There is none, Bousman tells Bloody-Disgusting. The remake is extremely early in the development process, but hopefully we'll hear some real news in the near future. If you ask me I think Automaton Transfusion director Steven Miller would be perfect for this project. In the original a boy preacher named Isaac goes to a town in Nebraska called Gatlin and gets all the children to murder every adult in town. A young couple have a murder to report and they go to the nearest town (Gatlin) to seek help but the town seems deserted. They are soon trapped in Gatlin with little chance of getting out alive.

Ok... So lets start off with NO - I am not doing Children of the Corn... Yes - it is true I love the movie... Yes, it is true I once pretended to be Malachi running around the corn fields of Kansas City - but NO I will not be 'helming' the remake.
So on the topics of remakes - lets discuss... My opinion is 99.9% of remakes make me vomit in my mouth a little bit. There are however in my opinion exceptions... As you all know by now I am attached to SCANNERS... that is indeed true. I approached Scanners the way I do with all remakes someone comes to me with... I vomited in my mouth a little bit... Then - I started thinking about it... I spoke to David Goyer... Then suddenly I woke up and the vomit taste gone - and now it had been replaced with the fresh taste of Listerine. Goyer is genius and has a crazy take on it.
It is not my intention to simply remake Cronenberg - - how can anyone 'remake' Cronenberg? I think that mere statement is sac-religious in and of itself.
No remake should just be a 'remake' but a 're-in-visioning'. If you want to see the original go to Blockbuster and rent it.
Now - since we are on the topics of re-in-visioning - lets talk about two movies I would LOVE to 're-in-vision
****Leprechaun - - I am not joking! I have seriously begged Lionsgate to let me direct the next Leprechaun movie... LEPRECHAUN IN THE OLD WEST!!! Seriously - think about - - The Lep in the Colorado gold rush! DO YOU HEAR ME PETE BLOCK! Let me do this!!!
****Flowers in the attic... if you question this choice just go read the book...
this is grave im a member on this forum look me up if u wanna chat sometime horror fans. now back to this artical i loved the saw movies so if he does lepachaun i would support it `100 percent and flowers of the attic remake it sounds awesome i love the original the book was written by vc andrews i believe i could be wrong but i would love to see these 2 remakes happen i mean flowers of attic original was pretty scary for a old time movie but imagine if its stepped up a few notches the grandma could be scaryier i believe this could be a good remake........ so great idea darren lynn sounds like a great plan
as for children of the corn no but i did think a prequel to children of the corn would be great like show how issac came to gatlin and what it was like before the kids took over ...... i think that could work ill suport a prequel but remake i have to say hellno
Yes I totally agree that they're making too mmany remakes of movies but still it would be awesome to see a children of the corn remake.And i'd love to audition for the part of issac in it.
