In a shocking turn of events it was revealed the other day that Darren Lynn Bousman would be returning to helm Saw IV for Lionsgate. Now that the dust has settled, Darren has taken the time to address his fans about the announcement, which can be found inside. Watch for more news as it comes in. Production is scheduled to begin in Toronto on April 16.

I should have never opened my big mouth... As I have now learned NEVER say NEVER... The rumors are in fact true... "I'LL BE BACK" (in my bad Arnold Schwarzenegger impression).
First off, let me dispel some rumors.... REPO! THE GENETIC OPERA IS HAPPENING!!!! (REPO OPERA myspace page is going up shortly) REPO is a ROCK OEPRA! Thus it is entirely sung... meaning over 35 songs have to be recorded and mixed PRIOR to us filming... That is going to take about four months... On top of that - I want to use the same crew as from the SAW films... That pushes me another two months... That means the EARLIEST I could shoot REPO would be September...
So here I have this gaping whole for the next 8 months before I could even begin shooting... I freak out if I am not constantly doing something... I was approached with Saw as an idea to fill that void... At first I turned it down just on principle... I have been WAY to lucky with the past films to warrant or RISK me coming back... And then I read the script... I read the draft of SAW IV... My first reaction....
FUCKING DAMNIT!!!!
This script was good... no... not good... GREAT... I was totally prepared for this script to JUMP THE SHARK - - I mean - we are on our THIRD sequel - where in fucks sake to you go from here? In the case of this script... UP!
I met with writers to give them my two cents... The next thing I knew I was all giddy like a school girl about where the film and the franchise was headed...

I get to work with people I love - make disgusting traps that spray the red stuff - and have an arsenal of material to offend, well, everybody... Plus, who else is going to let me get away with the sick shit that I do???

Wow... As if the hype wasn't enough to excite me, this certainly is! Darren Lynn Bousman loves the script and where "the film and the franchise [are] headed"? THAT is fantastic news, cuz I'm sure he's referring to IV, V AND VI which I hear WILL be made. I hope he does all three as long as these next few sequels can ADD to the series. Hell of a franchise... I've got my countdown going until Saw 4 is released!
Worst news ever. Saw 2 and Saw 3 were absolute crap. Everything that made the first saw great is gone from these pathetic excuses for sequels, Darren Lynn Bousman should do the world a favor and just stop making movies. He's just a hack who got lucky. Next.
Darren Bousman is not a hack who got lucky. Uwe Boll, is a hack, Paul Anderson is a hack. Those are asshole who got lucky, Uwe Boll in the sense thats hes still MAKING main stream films. And Paul Anderson is lucky that Resident sold enought tickets to warrant sequels. Bousmans got badass talent, and you have to be blind not to see that.
I don't like Bousman. I recall on the Saw 3 behind-the-scenes featurette how he giggled like a jerk when an actor (the judge) got "pig juice" sprayed all over his face multiple times. He should be fucking ashamed of himself for laughing at an actor like that. I'll definitely see Saw IV, but not because of Bousman - it's because of the two writers who seem to really know their horror. Feast was awesome.
darren lynn bousmen is a good director but i would like to see james wan and leigh wannel direct it. thats how i kno saw will stay to its roots. it seems like bousman is trying to take it in a more hostel like direction and thats ok but i like saw b/c it really speaks to you if you pay attention and there are so many things you have to pay attention to in order to understand the movie. so ill still see saw 4 and 5 and if you guys say so the 6th one but i think the original writers need to stay in action in order to keep saw from losing its true meanings
I'm just wondering how Saw 4 will come out without Jigsaw?Even though I think the series has been exciting.They're not like the Freddy or Jason movies.I definitely be ready for it.
They've somehow got to bring Jigsaw back in order for this sequel to succeed. I am however pumped for this sequel as I have been and will continue to be for the Saw films.
The Saw movies are the best movie's ive seen. I can watch them over and over and not get bored. The twist's that the movies come with are always amazing, The Saw 3 twist was the best one of all. It's a shame Jigsaw "died" but the Saw franchise has a lot of twists. The plot for Saw 4 is it goes into the life of the guy who killed Jigsaw, If you remember, he had locked her daughter away and then the movie ended on the game Jigsaw started with him. It also is going to involve flashbacks of Jigsaws wife.

My personal opinion, I dont think Jigsaw died. At the end of Jigsaw II, we were all left believing he had died. Plus, The Saw fanchise is meant to go up to Saw 5 or 6 I heard, with Tobin Bell apparently signing a contract for both movies. So for the final movie, he either didnt die, or, he has left video tape's. Or, which i hope not, it will be a prequel. Prequels always seem to be the downfall of a good horror movie.
I think Saw 4 would either have to be a Prequel OR Jigsaw living?? But do we then go into the 'dangerous waters' of 'silly' sequels? ie the horrendous Haloween sequel after H20 where Michael was not actually killed by J.L.C at all.(which is where they should have left it!). It's all too easy to create some ridiculous plot to extend the life of a film's hero/villain for the sake of some sequel. Jigsaw sure did look pretty doomed with a circ-saw thru his throat, but who knows? Will he 'miraculously' survive or was it even 'him' in the bed? Prequel aside, however Saw 4 starts, we can but hope that the sheer quality of the previous 3 films will outweigh the possibly silly plot, allowing for a fourth film, although i have a feeling we needn't worry. Afterall, at the very end of the film, Jigsaw's taped voice DID intimate there was ANOTHER game to be played............

Amanda and Jigsaw died in SAW III so how can there be a SAW IV?,regardless of the fact that The Creators,Producers,and Director signed and agreed to make 3 or 4 more films!!!

Look Guys Jigsaw lives plain and Simple. Leigh,James and Darren are geniouses. But look if Jigsaw really does die then well the franchise just dies with him. If they want a successful story they should have like Lawrence Gordon from the first movie comeback and help Jigsaw live after having his throat cut. Or at least have Eric Matthews pay Jigsaw back for "Cleaning Up Amanda's mess" Thats what just wanted to say.
I trust Darren's judgement, seeing as he said before making Saw 3 that he would not do 4 it must be that good a script to sign him up with such enthusiasm. In Saw IV Jeff will probably go looking for his Daughter because that is how the 3rd one ended with Jigsaw starting his last game. I look forward to Saw 4, and I know Darren will do a great job.
Absolutely awesome news... people who don't like it, whats the point on going on a horror fan site? I don't go on jurassic park websites and say how shit their sequells were.
All the saw's are great. I was a bit sceptical at first as to what a sequell or prequell to this might be like, but I have ever confidence in the team that have made such great horror movies.

oh man saw history it all started with saw the first movie to the saw creation then the horror moved on to another level saw 2 when jigsaw locks a group of people in his tormenting house then saw 3 when jigsaw puts a bomb on someones wife and in the end his wife dies now they make a saw 4 well this is gonna be one hell of a movie motherfuckers.
It is hard to understand how there could be a Saw 4 since Jigsaw and Amanda both "die"--but maybe Saw 4 is something like "Saw--The Beginning" that shows Jigsaw before he tries to commit suicide, and maybe we see how he chose all of the victims and such. But, on the otherhand I think there has to be another movie because at the end of Saw 3 Jigsaw tells the guy Jeff, that he knows where is daughter is...there has to be something else. Maybe Jigsaw has another sidekick or something twisted none of us have thought of! Plus...did detective Matthew's die? That is never truly revealed?!
Yes the saw series are amazing. i have heard many speculations about how saw 4 will run... but alot of people are forgetting one person that could possibly be the new jigsaw. At the end of Saw 2 the fake "daniel" that was with Amanda mysteriously just dissapears at the end. We all know that him and amanda were obviously immune to the poison that was coming out of the vent. And they do never show what happens to him at the end so I think he could possibly be the New Jigsaw for 4 or possibly 5. Just a thought =P
Lets not forget at this point that the original Saw started with Dr Gordon and Adam chained up... Who is to say that these were Jigsaws first victims! Saw 4 could jump back to just after Johns suicide attempt, it could be that John did not die at the end of 3 (Everyone thought he was dead at the end of 2!!!), it could be that someone else made it in an Amanda-esque role.
One things for sure, damn good job that Amanda didn't become the next jigsaw to carry on the franchise. Shawnee Smith is a good actress, but, I just don't think Saw would work with Amanda as a full time Jigsaw.
Either way I can't wait to book my movie ticket to see it!
Dudes check the fucking pages the script is totally out there ok ask our selves how much farther they are going to take this but i cant wait to go and check out this flick just letting you all know that the script is out there and its not about his old victums its about the guys little girl being trapped and someone from the first saw comes back and likes what jigsaw did. anyone finds out any details list them!! Keep it real!
