We heard this news through the grapevine a few weeks ago that Gold Circle might be remaking Dark Sky Films' Antibodies (review), but weren't able to confirm it. Today Moviehole.net not only confirmed, but scored some details, read on for the skinny. In the original a serial killing pederast is caught after a violent shoot out with police. But there is still an unsolved murder of a young girl in a small town. Could he have done it? Or could he be the key to finding out who did? A mind game ensues between the cop from the girl's town and the deranged serial killer in this intense psychological thriller.
Moviehole.net reports:"Someone’s decided the German horror film “Antibodies” is ripe for the remake, and set screenwriter Kevin Waehner off to adapt it for an American audience. Waehner is relatively new to the writing game – his biggest claim to fame is working as a production assistant on Universal’s “Slither” with James Gunn – but I’m told he ‘knows’ his horror movies.
Set to follow a similar storyline to the original, the pic tells of a cop who gets more than he bargained for when he travels to the city to interrogate a long wanted serial killer.
Gold Circle Films, coincidentally the same troupe that did the abovementioned “Slither”, is behind the project. The executives on the project are Zak Kadison and Guy Danella. Producer George Waud (“Snakes on a Plane”) is also in development on a couple of other horror remakes – “Phantasm” and “Infection”.
