Will Dimension Still Have a 'Pulse' After Two Sequels?

Moviehole.net discovered this evening that Dimension Films is planning two sequels to Pulse, the god-awful remake to the Japanese horror film "Kairo". Kristen Bell won’t be returning and neither will co-star Ian Somheralder, according to the online mag. In the remake horrifying supernatural events consume the life of Mattie once she receives an e-mail from her friend begging for help from beyond the grave. Watch for more news as it comes in.

PULSE wasn't very good at all. The only reason to see it was Kristen Bell, who is way too good for that movie. Since the sequels will be going directly to video stores (actually, since it will be from Weinstein, they will be going directly to Blockbuster shelves) she's obviously not going to be involved. While I'm sure the sequels could easily improve on the original I doubt I'll take a chance on them without her. They'd have to look really good and have really good reviews, but that's highly unlikely. I'm kind of surprised they'd bother anyway since being exclusively available through Blockbuster to rent they will see their profit severely reduced so it can't really be worth it.
