Scout Taylor-Compton has just destroyed all of the ridiculous rumors and has officially been cast as Laurie Strode in Rob Zombie's remake of Halloween, which hits theaters August 31. She has been in two horror films in the past year, Wicked Little Things and An American Crime, which debuted at Sundance two weeks ago. She joins the all-star cast of Tyler Mane, Malcolm McDowell, Daeg Faerch, Heather Bowen, Pat Skipper, Dee Wallace Stone, Sheri Moon Zombie, William Forsythe, Ken Foree, Danielle Harris, Adrienne Barbeau, Clint Howard, Courtney Gains, Daryl Sabara, Brad Dourif, Udo Kier and Kristina Klebe. Shooting has officially begun in Los Angeles, CA. Watch for more details as they come in, read on for a pic of the new Laurie Strode!

After being committed for 17 years, Michael Myers, now a grown man and still very dangerous, is mistakenly released from the mental institution (where he was committed as a 10 year old) and he immediately returns to Haddonfield, where he wants to find his baby sister, Laurie. Anyone who crosses his path is in mortal danger.

so much for the Innoncent good girl Laurie Strode Looks....Ellen Page was the best choice she had the perfect INNOCENT GOOD GIRL Laurie strode Looks but then again Ellen his busy with filming 2 movies (probably better for her to do those movies then be in a pointless remake).

Wow she looks nothing like all the other cookie cutter whore girls in the other slew of remakes of the past few years. Zombie really has no fucking clue what he's doing.

Wow she is perfect for Laurie Strode. Great choice from Rob Zombie. She sorta has a haunting look in her expression that makes you know that a psychopath is after her.

does it really come out aug. 31? ive heard its coming out in october. also ive heard that Halloween (Hall9ween)is about a film crew and all, are going to make a movie about myers and his home town, when in reality of the movie myers goes back to his home town and he has a new face, it is now white with red blood streaks. so he is walking a round the town and no one has second thoughts when they see him cuz they think he is the actor. he ends up killing the whole film crew. awhile a mob of towns people and cops are trying to find him, the film props and equiptment are still out and in place, the towns people start to wonder what is real and what is not. but also through out the movie there is a secret about his sister and her death. im not to sure if this is true, it might just be a teaser passed along. but i hope it helps give a better piture to the whole new movie.

VILLA. where have you been thats OLD,OLD news. How is it that you know that obscure bit of debunked halloween 9 news yet the fact that rob zombie is directing a remake of the original film has exscaped your grasp?

9:05am, January 28, 2007

I dont liek this chick . she seems to play boy bunnyish. She seems liek the chick you would cast in the movie JUST for a nude scene.

shane drury
9:06am, January 28, 2007

I think she looks very sexy and will be great in the film. rob zombie has proved to be a great film maker and i have complete faith that his version of halloween is going to be a CLASSIC itself.

I don't mean to be cliche but I don't like her all that much. She just seems too young. But I dunno, she'll probably do a good job anyway.

She is truly sexy and i am happy that she is play laurie strode and she is no stranger to horror movies.

I haven't seen her act so I don't know if she is a good choice. But based on looks, she's beautiful and I can see her as a sweet innocent girl. Hopefully she can do a good job ;) No one will ever replace Jamie I think but hopefull the pre/make will atleast be enterttaining.

5:29pm, January 28, 2007

okay, she's a looker. but what female in hollywood isn't. but i think we can trust rob to not cast a total crap actor in one of the leads

Jonny
6:40pm, January 28, 2007

I've never heard of her. She's a looker definately and I'm sure a solid actor or she would not have been cast. According to blabbermouth.net, they start shooting this thing in the morning. I have a hard time with anyone who does not like the actor choices. If you know your movies in general, these people have done some outstanding work in their careers. I think the old school talent is perfect for this project as opposed to the teen crop that is currently popular today. Imagine Lindsay Lohan in this film. Good lord, what a nightmare. So obviously, no matter what is said, good or bad about this film, it's happening. My gut is telling me were gonna be pleasantly surprised with the results. I know there's hater's out there that regardless, will dis the movie. As I've said before, I'll be the first to say it suck's if it does. But will some of you hater's have the balls to admit it's good if in fact it is ?

6:40pm, January 28, 2007

You people are sheep. Laurie Strode is not supposed to be a 10 out of 10 playboy model. That was the point of the character. Rob Zombie and his remake can go fuck himself.

TheRaven
6:59pm, January 28, 2007

Um... Jamie Lee Curtis was pretty bangin in her day, and with the standards being set a little lower in the 70's, yeah she was a 10. __________________ J-Syxx 6:40pm, January 28, 2007 You people are sheep. J-Syxx, Are you kiddin me? So Laurie is supposed to be some homely nedry girl? Jamie Lee Curtis was pretty cute for her time. Did you see what they did to Charlize Theron in "Monster"? If they need to bring her look down a little , DUH, don't you think they are capable of doing that. Get real.

Johnny, you've had your week to elucidate everyone on your magnanimously miniscule grasp of reality. It has taken me that week to correct your little book report and I must say I am greatly amused by your train of logic. You can speed-dial Rob now and tell him I'm back and maybe, just maybe, he'll make you one of his 'special' myspace friends. Heck, you might even get your pic as an avatar at the top of his page as a little reward for your shameless attempts to schill for your little friend. BTW it might be past your bedtime as I write this so be sure to polish up your apple and bring your assignment on time this week.....

Jonny
12:53am, January 29, 2007

Hey, Sauron. Your back. Did you just get back from L.A. protesting the movie? Did you and your ban of Halloween remake hater's shut down production ? Guess not.Great to hear your amused by my train of logic. I also find your responses, insult's and in depth analysis quite humorous.Let me make sure you've kept up to date on what I've said because your beginning to repeat yourself. We get it. You hate Rob Zombie, the script, and the movie has no chance of being good. I am not a big RZ fan as you repeatedly claim I am. I do however, want to see a good horror movie. So why not keep an open mind. Oh, I know, it's adolescent and I've lost my grasp of reality to even think that way. Boy, you got me there. Thank's so much for enlightening me. Hey, welcome back.

Sauron
2:46am, January 29, 2007

Further proof that your knowledge of remedial English is quite suspect and therefore, combined with your aforementioned viewing tastes you probably rank somewhere between sixteen and seventeen years old. First, when conjugating the terms "you" and "are," it's spelled you're not your. Second, I believe the term is band not ban of Halloween remake haters (no apostrophe, take note) As long as you keep thinking you have a clue the longer I'll remain here correcting your little book reports. I'm here for you Jon, really, I am. I wanna see YOU suceed, you're trying so hard.....By the way, if you haven't noticed I don't seem to be the only one around here who thinks the movie's going to suck. Or did you fail to grasp that while furiously attempting to formulate a response.....

nick
12:39pm, January 29, 2007

if you're the type of person that posts a message only to deride someone's spelling mistakes, particularly when you have that annoying "i'm so smart" attitude, you should make damn sure to keep your own post free of mistakes, otherwise you end up looking like a giant tool... there are two C's in 'succeed'.

Sauron
12:46pm, January 29, 2007

Good catch Jon, now you can go back to using your real name, just make sure to capitalize any/all sentences beginning with the letter 'I'. Touche. :)

Jonny
1:35pm, January 29, 2007

Nice try. So you think I'm only one that think's your school teacher bit is a little ridiculous. I don't know who Nick is, but he makes alot of sense. It makes you feel intelligent to correct spelling mistakes. Well excuse me, I didn,t know I was being graded on this. Your way off on my age by the way, but thank you for the compliment. I didn't know you were using this site to work on your psychologist degree. Thank's for breaking me down. Wow, I feel so much better. Now you can go back to your game of Dungeon's and Dragon's. Don't forget to correct any mispellings teacher.

Sauron
4:31pm, January 29, 2007

You are: conjugated "YOU'RE" Please try to refrain from having your little brother write in to cover your a%s. Your use of incomplete sentences also leads me to believe that you still have not graduated high school. If you are tired of being graded then stop making anally-retentive comments professing your unadulterated love of all things Zombie. As long as you insist on denying what's been put forth, including all those wonderful little tidbits directly from Rob's mouth, then you will continue to get your education here. If I grow tiresome, say something with an ounce of credibility.

Jonny
5:24pm, January 29, 2007

You really need to get over the teacher bit.BRING SOMETHING NEW!!! Why don't you go through all the comment's on this message board and correct every mispelling.Do you suffer from some sort of autism that everything has to be perfect or it freak's you out? By the way, what have I denied? I don't care what's been put forth as far as the script goes. You should be smart enough to know that the movie could end up being entirely differnt before it's finished. Oh, and credibility ? So your opinion's (and that's all that they are)have credibility and anyone else that has a different take does not? Look up the word DEBATE. Your "I'm so smart" critique's add NOTHING. If all your about is bashing and insulting, then go to your anti-Zombie site and get it all out

Sauron
5:52pm, January 29, 2007

I'm sure all of the families living with children suffering from autism appreciate your education and sensitivity on the subject. If you were indeed of voting age, then I think you would know the difference between 'obsession' and 'autism.' Some of us are indeed smart enough to know these things. As far as this 'debate' goes, I'm thoroughly enjoying it.....

Jonny
6:58pm, January 29, 2007

C'mon dude, My comment was directed at you. Stop with the guilt trip. I know 2 people personally with it. It has to do with your compulsive grammar checking.I meant no offense to anyone. Look up the word, you've just been educated. I see you have no problem with the word retard that has been used by many anti-Zombie fans to describe people that share my opinion. I guess that's different in your book as long as it support's your theories. By the way, I'm loving the debate as well. But let's keep it between us. Agreed ?

Sauron
7:27pm, January 29, 2007

A) I'm not criticizing the other Zombie lovers, just you. And this stems from your little posting tirade 45 days ago telling everyone to STFU about the Zombie criticism. B) It'll be a long, long time before I get an education from a teenager my friend. I don't need to look it up, I'm pretty confident you pushed the idiot button with that comment.

Jonny
8:04pm, January 29, 2007

So it seems that I have pushed your idiot button. 45 days. There has been alot worse said then STFU.But I've gotten your attention. Great. But it is YOU that's started the bashing. Anything pro movie, instead of debating the topic, you want to insult and tell people how wrong they are. I have no problem with criticism. Especially when it can be discussed, not blasted for feeling a different way. Stick to the subject, leave the insult's alone. Are you capable of that ?

Sauron
8:26pm, January 29, 2007

Your ignorance speaks for itself. The word 'autism' was first mentioned in YOUR post. And since you weren't astute enough to pick up on the hint, the 'idiot' button was a reference to your own lack of intelligence, not any teenage attempt to get my attention. Also, for the record, I haven't slammed ANYONE else on these boards, except you. Check it, if you don't believe me. You've earned my special attention to complete your education. So the next time you want to insult anyone and everyone who believes 'Rob' is a complete idiot remember to clean your own house first.....

Jonny
9:03pm, January 29, 2007

You just can't do it can you ? You can't respond without taking shot's. Read how I used the word "autism". I said do you suffer from some sort of it. It has different types. And one is a compulsive disorder, such as your need to correct spelling. My friend has this. I know how I used it. Get off the guilt trip.Stick to the issues.......can you once and for all do it ?

Sauron
9:17pm, January 29, 2007

Funny how YOU used the term in a blatantly offensive attempt to talk smack and now you're trying to run away from it. Be a man, you said it, you know how you meant it, anyone who reads your post knows how you meant it, and yet you're still trying to run away from your own careless stupidity. I don't see how any of that, other than the blatant stupidity remark, is "taking shots." If you want to talk junk, put your house in order first.....

Jonny
11:50pm, January 29, 2007

I'm not running from anything. I stand by what I directed at YOU. I OWN IT !! I have no problem using the word to describe your tendencies. You want to make it something else, go ahead. So you don't see how calling someone ignorant is not taking shot's ? That's all YOU do.Any comment from me is followed by your insult's. It's well documented here. YOU own it. I'd like to talk about the movie. Are you ready yet ?

Buddha
1:26pm, January 30, 2007

She played a decent type-cast in Wicked Little Things, she might do decently well in this performance. So far, I can't really complain about the actor choices...

Sauron
5:01pm, January 30, 2007

Interesting, after a week of silence on my part the "intellectual almighty" remarks came pouring freely from your mouth in addition to that little misnomer we've been arguing about. Again I say if you want to talk smack, put your house in order first. HOWEVER, if you wish to return to nonpersonal warfare, these are the terms: 1) It's been pretty well established that you do not favor my intense dislike of the peon wannabe known affectionately as 'Rob.' Understood. Knowing this we should continue under the assumption that neither will change the other's viewpoint. As such: 2) Both parties will refrain from creative use of personal adjectives to describe the other, no matter how correct their opinion may be.....3) You shall specifically refrain from mocking other posters who also feel Zombie's vision is a piece of sh^t and 4) I shall refrain from constantly editting your grammar, punctuation, and command of medical terminology. These are the terms take them or leave them.....

Jonny
2:22pm, February 2, 2007

Perfect. I think it's clear where you and I both stand. Though we had our verbal bashing's posted here back and forth, I'm ready to move forward. We can discuss this movie, good and bad, without the B.S. comment's. You may find this strange, but I think we have more in common, (in terms of the original Halloween) then you might think. We just have a different approach and view about the remake. I'm really not much of an RZ fan as you might think. He's made 2 movies, 1 bad, 1 good (my opinion). I've read the script that's online, not sure how much of it's accurate. I think it's got a few good idea's and some VERY questionable one's. RZ's taking a BIG risk with this movie. My WHOLE point from the get go was, this thing is happening, being a horror movie fan, I'm hoping to be surprised with the outcome. Also, I will leave anyone alone who does not bash my point's first. I can take criticism, But not being called names or questioned about my intelligence. We all have opinion's, it does not make someone stupid.

Sauron
9:51pm, February 2, 2007

Sounds good. It's interesting but I do agree with some of your points. My thing is an absolute preconceived hatred of all things Zombie. Personally I think he's a colossial fake right down to the bitchy tough-guy fakeweavedregs nonconformist crap. He could pull off a decent movie if all of this were a ruse designed to throw counterintelligence our way. I don't know though because he doesn't seem smart enough to think that way, in my opinion. I know you want to see a good Halloween movie but I'd rather see the franchise on ice than a crippling of the original. Anyway I'll see you on the more recent threads and BIG PROPS to Mr. D for not deleting any of our verbal warfare.....

Jonny
11:22pm, February 2, 2007

Amen. I think we kept people entertained. That just goes to show you how much this movie means to us. We'll be chatting as this thing progresses.........peace.

P.W.
11:53am, February 3, 2007

All is right in the world again. With that said, boy you two had me cracking up at my desk. Others thought I was nuts, sitting here laughing alone. Anyway, I will stick to my guns and hope Zombie stays away from the trashy family, humanized Michael stuff. I loved leaving the theater in 78' saying..."I still don't know if that dude was human!" I hope I leave the theater thinking that again, because that's what made the original so cool. I'm still willing to wait and see and not jump to conclusions based on internet fodder. Again, like Johny is noting, nothing can change the original, no matter what Zombie does here. Good luck in your new harmonious relationship.
