Four More Join Zombie's 'Halloween' Remake Cast

Rob Zombie continues to show his love for the classics by casting four classic actors in his remake of Halloween, which is aiming at an August 31st release date. Inside you'll find out who's joining Tyler Mane (Michael Myers), Malcolm McDowell (Dr Loomis), Daeg Faerch (young Michael Myers), Heather Bowen, Pat Skipper, Dee Wallace Stone, Sheri Moon Zombie, William Forsythe, Ken Foree and Danielle Harris in the film, which has been getting both positive and negative attention on the internet.

Rob Zombie revealed on his official MySpace blog for his remake of Halloween that Adrienne Barbeau (Creep Show, The Fog), Clint Howard (Evilspeak, Leprechaun 2, Ice Cream Man), Courtney Gains (The Phobic) and Daryl Sabara (Solace) have all joined the cast of the film, which is prepping for shoot soon.

After being committed for 17 years, Michael Myers, now a grown man and still very dangerous, is mistakenly released from the mental institution (where he was committed as a 10 year old) and he immediately returns to Haddonfield, where he wants to find his baby sister, Laurie. Anyone who crosses his path is in mortal danger.

Zombie's vision of this film is an entirely new take on the legend and will satisfy fans of the classic "Halloween" legacy while beginning a new chapter in the Michael Myers saga. "This is a bit of a prequel and a remake, combined," says Zombie.

Theres way too many "genre icons" in this film. Makes me think its not going to have any sort of real suspense. How can a viewer possibly get into a story when every 5 min another icon comes along to remind us of every other movie?

The script is gonna need a SERIOUS overhaul before this thing will satisfy anyone much less fans of the original.

Mmmmmmm I hope they keep the original theme score... I'm still bummed about not wrapping up the original series before getting into remakes/reinventions etc. i was so pumped for halloween 9 and 10's plans to tie up loose ends... i mean rob zombie's film just might be good... but it doesn't change the fact it stopped the other sequels from being made.

I'm kinda with Brian on the suspense thing. Though I do like the past horror stars that he has cast in this remake/prequel, my concern lies with the suspense. However I am not saying that I doubt this project. I just hope that he concentrates on suspence. People seem to be worried about a lot of acid visuals because of 1000 Corpses, but given the turn around style of Rejects, I think he will manage to adapt to Halloween just fine.

Too many "genre icons" to those who consider themselves genre-savvy - but for "everyone else," it's not gonna matter.

I think the actor's involved will do a good job. There's alot of experience there. What's truly important for this film to work will be pace, mood, suspense, and the musical score which worked so well in the orignal. I think RZ's idea about exploring Michael's upbringing is important. It's a territory that's untapped. We already know what it's like leaving his past a mystery. I think that introducing new details to the plot will kick start the franchise. Let's face it, other than the original and Halloween II(decent, but not great), the sequels have been god awful. Even going into supernatural territory and satanic cults were BAD ideas.Michael had been shot and stabbed so may times, he was becoming Freddy Krueger and Jason. Keeping him real, with human qualities will make him scary again. Leave the fantasy shit out of it. I for one am rooting for RZ to make it a new classic.

Adrienne B.?,That's pretty cool. I think Rob (what kinda last name is Zombie anyway...Lithuwanian??)might surprise us after all. Suspense and no "white trash" stuff. MacDowell as well....they wouldn't possibly agree if...
