Deaden unleashed in the United States!

Montreal, Canada – January 11, 2007

Movie Seals Productions is proud to announce that Maverick Entertainment Group has acquired the United States distribution rights to its urban vigilante movie "Deaden” by director Christian Viel ("Evil Breed: The Legend of Samhain", "RECON 2020: The Caprini Massacre"), written by and starring John Fallon (Alone in the Dark, Saw II).

Since its premiere at the prestigious Sitges International Film Festival in the fall of 2006, this vibrant homage to the vigilante movies of old has been gathering the attention of numerous industry heavyweigths as well as fervent critical acclaim:

“Being a fan of horror - and even more so a fan of gore, I was shocked when I saw myself turning away from a couple of scenes in DEADEN. I thought I was sick but I can't hold a candle to the opening scene in this film! The film is not only RAW and BRUTAL - it's unforgiving - a nice change of pace from the cookie cutter action films of late.” - Darren Bousman (Director SAW II & SAW III)

"DEADEN is a ballistic missile to the brain. It's a dark, vicious revenge flick that makes Death Wish look like The Breakfast Club. Fallon proves himself as not just a writer but an actor with a genuine passion that keeps you riveted to the screen even after everything inside you demands you turn away." - Patrick Luissier (Director/Editor - White Noise 2 The Light - Dracula 2000 - Scream - H20)

"Deaden is a brutal, vicious, over-the-top homage to the classic 70's revenge thrillers like Death Wish toplined by a vengeful Bronsan-esque John Fallon in a film destined for cult status." - Mark Altman, Cinefantastique/CFQ

"Very entertaining. People who love the politically incorrect and over-the-top violent action films of the late '70's and '80's will have some savage fun with this one too." - Tuomas Riskala / Director of the Fantasy & Horror Section, Espoo Ciné International Film Festival

“Saw "DEADEN" and dug it. It's now a proven fact. Fallon can act. A movie star in the making with presence and edge to burn.” - Eric Red / The Hitcher- Body Parts

The story follows John Fallon as Rane, an ex-undercover cop forced to witness the brutal rape and murder of his pregnant wife (Anna Jaeger) by the ruthless members of a biker gang who have learned about his old policemen days. Shot through the head with a crossbow and dumped into a canal, Rane is believed to be dead... but miraculously survives the ordeal. Upon his exit from the hospital, he teams up with his old crime buddy Kersey (Deke Richards), arms himself to the teeth, and goes on a drug fueled, psychotic rampage all in the name of unapologetic retribution.

The film is tentatively scheduled to come out in the Summer 2007.
