There’s No Rest For The Wicked…Or The Masters of Horror!

ANCHOR BAY ENTERTAINMENT LAUNCHES MASTERS OF HORROR
SEASON TWO WITH DARIO ARGENTO’S “PELTS”

The Screams Are “Fur”-nished on DVD February 13, 2007

TROY, MI – It all began as an idea, discussed over a few casual dinners. But these gatherings were different, as they were attended by some of the most renowned names in horror filmmaking. The result was an award-winning, internationally honored series of ground-breaking tales exploring the dark recesses of the human imagination. On February 13, 2007, Anchor Bay Entertainment introduces the first DVD release of the second season of the acclaimed Masters of Horror anthology. “Pelts,” a horrifying tale of fashion and fright, is directed by Italian horror master Dario Argento, who directed such chilling classics as Suspiria and Do You Like Hitchcock?, as well as last season’s Masters of Horror smash provocative episode “Jenifer.” Starring Meat Loaf (Fight Club, The Rocky Horror Picture Show) and veteran horror film star John Saxon (A Nightmare On Elm Street), “Pelts” lets the fur fly with a gaze of specially produced bonus materials and sets a new standard for shocks-per-dollar value with the ultra-low SRP of $14.98. Pre-book is January 10, 2007.

Adapted in lurid Giallo-style from F. Paul Wilson’s (The Keep) short story by Matt Venne, “Pelts” gives “the skin trade” a whole new supernatural and bloody twist. Struggling fur trader Jake Feldman (Meat Loaf) knows that you can’t make a coat without breaking a few animals’ necks. When he creates a luxurious fur coat from a family of raccoons, he realizes he’s made his ticket back to the big time, as well as potentially winning the heart of model Mira (Melissa Gonzalez). But this exquisite fur coat does more than just dazzle the eye – it possesses animal desires and the power to exact revenge.

Dario Argento’s “Pelts” on DVD comes stuffed with such visceral supplements as:

• Widescreen Presentation (1.78:1), enhanced for 16x9 televisions
• Audio commentary with Writer Matt Venne
• Featurette: “All Sewn Up: Mastering The Effects Sequence”
• Featurette: “Fleshing It Out: The Making of Pelts”
• Storyboard Gallery
• Director Bio
• Screenplay (DVD-ROM)

First airing on the Showtime cable network in October 2005 to critical and public acclaim, each one-hour Masters of Horror film elevates the genre to a new standard in terror, written and directed by some of the genre’s leading practitioners.

The executive producers of Masters of Horror are Starz Media’s Morris Berger, Steve Brown, and John W. Hyde; Industry Entertainment’s Keith Addis and Andrew Deane; and Nice Guy Productions’ Mick Garris. Reunion Pictures’ Lisa Richardson and Tom Rowe are producers. Industry Entertainment’s Adam Goldworm and Ben Browning are co- producers on the series.
