Two new DVDs were announced this morning over at Davis DVD, the first is the Sarah Michelle Gellar horror/thriller The Return, which hits retailers on February 27; the second is MGM Home Entertainment's cult classic Night of the Comet, which arrives on March 6. Read on for the skinny on both releases.
David DVD reports:
The Return: Universal Home Entertainment will release The Return on February 27th, 2007. Sarah Michelle Gellar stars as a young woman who is forced to confront the terrifying visions that have been haunting her in this horror thriller that will keep you guessing until the very end. Presented in 2.35:1 anamorphic widescreen and Dolby Digital 5.1, extras include deleted scenes, an alternate ending, "Creation of a Nightmare: The Making of The Return" featurette and trailers. Retail is $29.98.
Night of the Comet: MGM Home Entertainment have just revealed that they will release the cult classic Night of the Comet on March 6th, 2007. What if the only people left alive in the world were Southern California teenagers? That's the premise of this enjoyable sci-fi tale of two sisters who must fend off zombie-like mutants and mysterious scientists after a comet's passing exterminates nearly all life. No disc details have been made available, but we expect an anamorphic transfer and Dolby Digital 2.0 Surround audio. Retail is $14.98.
Can anyone explain why soooo many crappy 70's and 80's movies have had DVD releases (Breakin, Electric Bugaloo, The Wiz. and shit like that) But I've had to wait YEARS for a fun movie like "NIGHT OF THE COMET" to finally come out????
Can I hope for a commentary track by Kelli and Catherine for the Night of the Comet DVD release, or is that asking too much?
