MPAA Rejects 'The Hills Have Eyes II' Poster!

God bless the MPAA, what would we do without them? Seriously, without them I might actually see a cool poster or trailer that might get me interested in a film! Instead studios have to rely purely on flash cutting to gain our interest. Anyways, what I have for you inside is appalling and despicable. I hate the MPAA and everything they stand for. Inside you'll find what 'Eatmybrains' claims is a "rejected" poster for Fox Atomic's The Hills Have Eyes II, because apparently a hand coming out of a bag is too violent or scary for the general public. Seriously, when is someone going to take down the MPAA?

Since when does the MPAA have a right to deny movie posters? What about the Saw 2 movie poster with the severed fingers...Hell, what about the Saw 3 movie poster. What are painfully removed teeth dangling on strings more acceptable then a hand coming out of a body bag? This is by far the most ridiculous thing the MPAA has ever done. I thought it was put in place to protect children, not be run by them.

I find the hand poster less disturbing then the appoved poster. Alot less disturbing.

Well, as long as the MPAA keeps denying them to the public, we can rely on the net to give us the nitty-gritty stuff.

What's up with this?! Since when is a hand coming out of a bag too "Graphic" or "Unsuitable?" I'll bet they'll want the bag to not be shaped like a person when this one's released. DOWN WITH THE MPAA!

The poster with the hand stinks. It looks like a bed sheet is tied around some unindentifiable lumpy shapes with a piece of dental floss. The new poster is instantly recognizable as somebody whos SOL...much more disturbing.

I hate the MPAA. A "hand" disturbing!?...please

If I ever become a director and the MPAA tells me that i have to cut it.... Well I hope they do because I have something to say which would get me thrown into jail or end my directing career. But it would be ok... Atleast I would have kicked there ass ^^

everyone in the MPAA has a big head. Shouldn't it be up to the people to chopose if something is too violent? And last time i checked, however many people in a room is not "the people"

This is getting pretty damn sad...when a damn hand is "to bad for the public" we have some issues...this is just pathetic

How is this a story? The MPAA may not have had anything to do with this. I would put the blame on the specific movie studio who hired the ad angency. It's infinitely more likely that the studio comissioned a few different ads, and chose the second over the first as their main ad. I am no fan of the MPAA, but how do they come into this at all? Is this just an excuse to bash them?

The fucking shadow from the body bag on the second one is going the wrong fucking way. What sort of cheap hack-job shit is that? I have the sneaking suspicion that this is all somehow a ruse. The MPAA doesn't do much with posters, and no professional movie studio would release the glaring travesty of Photoshop lameness that is beheld in the second poster.

Fuck the MPAA

That second poster looks blurry and Photoshopped.

You do realize that all submissions to the MPAA are voluntary, right?

So the guy in the first poster has a chance at surviving, while the guy in the second poster is just having his corpse dragged through the desert...how is that more acceptable?

believe it or not but it may be a good decision..the first one is really morbid, I don't mind it..but it's just very unsettling - which gives me a weird and morbid desire to see the movie..

The second one looks like to much of a shit-job to be an actual official poster. My guess is it is one of these scenerios. A) The MPAA DID reject poster A, so some one had that concept and put it in...because the internet is a wonder. B) Some one's a fuck-o. C) The movie company rejected the poster. I'm no big fan of how hard the MPAA cracks down on the horror. But this story reeks of bullshit.

Compared to the late 80's and 90's, the MPAA has actually been much more horror and gore friendly. And, the MPAA has very little if any influence over posters and other ads. So this article seems a little off target.

So all of the SAW series posters are deemed 'ok' with chopped off limbs and shit, but this can't make the cut? These idiots can go fuck themselves.

Nidis

Totally honest, the first picture seems less morbid than the second. The first one installs the feelings of fear and desperation, the second just says to me "theres no point in trying, he's dead, its too late". I'd... probably rather the first one for my idea of a good public presentation.

This story seems fake. Because the 2nd poster makes no sense. The body is tied up very neatly for it to have been done by a retarded cannibal. The 1st poster makes more sense.

Ahahahahaha that's some funny crap. It's like "ZOMFG A HAND! MPAA please tell them to remove the hand that is suffering, too graphic!" >_> <_<

You've got to be kindy me with this crap. The MPAA are a bunch of morons and really need to be taken down. I mean where will this all end. What was so terrible about the first poster? The second one is just a joke. The body in the second one looks like it has been girted wrapped by Santa's elves. The first one is by far better. This is supposed to be a horror film not some kids cartoon!
