A little fansite by the name of spielbergfilms.com, which doesn't even work, claims to have called Steven Spielberg's offices and got word that there is "no truth" to our previous report that a frame-by-frame remake to Poltergeist was in the works. Of course before this blows up in our faces I want to respond with A: why the hell would they confirm it? B: I have had two, yes two directors tell me they were approached for the project. Whether it happens or not is yet to be seen, but when the entire community is against the idea... sometimes the studios listen. Good riddance.
Thats just about the worst fan site Ive seen. Funny enough I was at a meeting at the studio and over heard them talking about it at lunch today! They were "shocked" that it got out. go bloody disgusting!

I'm really not sure what to think of these rumors now; perhaps there is some truth to them, or maybe the studio floated them as a "test" to see if there was fan interest (the overwhelming reaction is NO!!"). However, I still think a direct sequel (Carol Anne grown up?) could be good, IF done right.

I guess The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Dawn of the Dead, The Omen, Psycho, Day of the Dead, and Halloween are all exceptions then.

i think my head will exploded if these kind of things will happend....like i said last time the remake of this film and i repeat WILL BE THE KISS OF DEATH TO ALL HORROR REMAKES!!! the studios that do these films need to get it throught their damn skulls and lisen to the fans on if these great classic need to be remade and i think that could kill a franchise or bury it leave it in a cold dark abyss. PLEASE STOP THIS MADDNESS...for all of humankind
i think a remake would be cool the tecqnolagy they have today they can turn that little girly horror flic in to a horror master peice it has a good story line for a remake look what they did with amityville that movie kicked ass i say give it a try but get the guy that did the ammity remake to sink his teeth into it and anouther thing i want a remake of the thing i know it is a classic but get carpeners ass back to work he needs a winner since the fog remake stunk so bad
