Dimension Films' Scary Movie 3 (review) was no joking matter when it comes to money, the third film dominated the box office by pulling in $49.7 million, which smashed the previous $36.5 million October opening record set by Red Dragon last year! Texas Chainsaw Massacre (review) dropped to the number two spot with $14.7 million, for a two week total of $51.2 million.
