Anchor Bay is set to release Scott Glosserman's Behind the Mask: The Rise Of Leslie Vernon (review) theatrically on January 5, 2007, according to Variety. The film will open in 12 US markets, followed by a special-edition DVD later in 2007. The next great psycho horror slasher has given a documentary crew exclusive access to his life as he plans his reign of terror over the sleepy town of Glen Echo, all the while deconstructing the conventions and archetypes of the horror genre for them. The pic stars Nathan Baesel, Robert Englund, Matt Bolt, Jenafer Brown, Krissy Carlson, Scott Wilson, Zelda Rubenstein, Angela Goethals and Kane Hodder.
I implore everyone that considers themselves a horror fan to go and see this movie. It absolutely delivers on every ounce of buzz and hype you have heard about it. I had the opportunity to see it in NYC during the GenArt Film Fest and was blown away. Even my wife (who is by no means a horror fan) loved this movie. Everyone get out there, buy your tickets and get behind Scott Glosserman and this fantastic film.
