Dimension Films has informed us that Rob Zombie's Halloween will now hit theaters August 31, 2007, a month and a half earlier than the original October 19 date! We've also learned that the script is completed and scouting is underway, more details as soon as they come in. Rob Zombie will also produce off of his own screenplay, which is sure to be one hell of a fun ride. Sheri Moon Zombie is the only confirmed cast member. Zombie's vision of this film is an entirely new take on the legend and will satisfy fans of the classic "Halloween" legacy while beginning a new chapter in the Michael Myers saga. "This is a bit of a prequel and a remake, combined," says Zombie.

So let me get this straight... they release Black Christmas ON Christmas day, thus making the film outdated 24 hrs after it's released, but they'll put Halloween out on Labor Day weekend? Dimension = Genius!!! And yet, about 75% of their movies are complete artistic and commercial failures...

Intrested in seeing how Sheri will take place in it all. My uncle said it could be cool to see her as Michael's sister the one he first kills, since it never really showed much of her in the original. Don't know what direction Rob is taking but I can't wait either way!

Yup, the geniuses in Hollywood yet again prove there are no original ideas left. Sorry, but Rob Zombie's going to flunk the test. There is nothing he's going to bring to the table to update, reinvent, etc. It's just H-wood trying to make a buck, and the more people line up, the more they'll keep doing shit like this. From what I've read so far, Zombie's interpretation of it is akin to George Lucas feeling the need to go back and "explain" the force with midi-some-shit-or-other. What's the point? Isn't the purpose of evil incarnate to be of origins unknown? I mean, if we knew what lead him to do the things he did, it would make things a lot less frightening because then one could rationalize all they wanted. And releasing it in August--doesn't Dimension Films realize that August is the studio's month for dumping turkeys? Perhaps they think they will cash in because of this, but releasing the film two months ahead of its namesake proves they've been locked up in an asylum for the last 25 years.

It has to at least be better both visually and story wise than half of the bullshit sequels. I just hope Zombie remembers to have fun. People want to be scared of Michaale Myers again, but at the same time there needs to be enough shocks and chase sequences to satisfy the audience. Im not 100% for this, but I wont bitch and complain. I will still see it. I'm sure Sherri Moon will be Michael's naked sister that he slashes. She's good for playing an funny yet evil bitch and I'm sure there will be scenes of her treating Michael like shit while baby sitting. And I say that Ben Kingsley for Loomis is not a good choice and is too obvious. If that's the case get Patrick Stewart. I for one would like a good actor playing the role and he doesnt have to be bald and look like Donald Pleasance.

Four-time Anthony "Tony" Geary of General Hospital (who plays Luke Spencer..ya know Luke and Laura?!) would be absolutely perfect for the role of Dr. Sam Loomis

Another remake of another movie that made history. Hollywood needs better ideas already. John Carpenters "Halloween" will always remain # 1 in my book. Why do a remake and take a masterpiece and change it a bit? Makes no sense. Plan a sequel or something rather then destroy the franchise.
