(Saw III spoilers ahead, do not read if you have not seen the film)
Am I the only one that was getting pissed off in Saw II and III when the traps were inescapable? I am so glad they cleared up the reasoning for this, because I was almost at the point of yelling at the screen at the beginning of Saw III when the detective died after getting the key, and the guy died after ripping all of the chains off of him. Jigsaw is a great killer, but if they do not do a "beginning" film for Saw 4 I will be disappointed, because Jigsaw is not meant to be a "god-like" figure and if he lived after he throat was cut open and his heart rate went to ZERO BPM, then I would get pissed off. If I wanted an indestructible killer I would watch Friday the 13th, Nightmare on Elm St., or Child's Play. It would be great to see further progression in the film, but I think it would be best summed up in the guise of a before Saw I film. The problem with how quickly they pumped the movies out, is that there wasn't enough time between the films to adequately depict "in-between" film films, i. e. other death traps between his epic ones. Also, I was really starting to hate Shawnee Smith's character in the third installment. She became very two-dimensional. And the fact that Jigsaw never made the argument that her life was also spared annoyed me, because that would have been the argument that would have stopped her from killing the doctor.
