Films based on true events are becoming more and more a Hollywood thing, especially ones that are actually sorta/kinda true (they're never exact). Right now everyone's on the Black Dahlia kick, then there are the numerous horror films coming out such as the adaptation of Ketchum's novel The Girl Next Door. Next up is another horrific true life story, which might also star the beautiful Scarlett Johansson. Read on for the skinny.
Dark Horizons discovered that Scarlett Johansson is being tipped to take the lead role in the true story film based on the life of Natascha Kampusch, the Austrian girl who was kidnapped and kept in a basement for eight years, according to Digital Spy.
Several studios are keen to secure movie rights to her story and according to the Daily Mail, Johansson (who shares Kampusch's hair and eye colour) is currently producers' favourite to take her role.
Wolfgang Priklopil captured the girl while she was on her way to school and committed suicide after her escape by jumping in front of a train.
